I just use a Marine/Boat Rope.... those are round, thick as in around the 1-1 1/2 in diam. and are used to pull/tie up boats at the docks. I've used it numerous amounts of times, to pull cars and trucks the size of my PF and it has never torn or anything the 8 yrs i've had it.

10-30 , average temp here in PR runs from mmm say 76 to 100ºF, would you suggest another?

also forgot to add that the sound tends to leave once warmed up......

Hi guys, When i turn on my 92 PF, it starts knocking on the bottom end of the engine, i guess it's there cuz thats from where the sound seems to be coming from. Anywho, does this mean i have to change main/rod bearings? or something of the likes? would that end up messing up my engine? thanks ahead of time.

Hi guys take a look at my pic.. the wheels are sticking out from the bottom.. but it's eating the wheels from the outside.. the inside tread is still good. I put new wheel bearings, new Stabilizing bar bushing kit, new shocks all the way around. I am missing one of the brackets on the stabilizing bar, but both bushings are there..think that'l have something to do? Do I need the stabilizing bar? You thing I'll need to do the Torsion bars? is it cuz it's low and that's why it's like that? I'd like to get them straight as I dont want my tires getting eaten uneven.....

Hey guys i finally decided to take the seat off to check the VSS, and first it does not have a reset switch/button on it it just says Nissan and took it apart and inside no switch/button either. Second, i went and checked the wires and found one of the black wires cut**the one next to the blue/red tracer wire.** Do any of you wave a wiring diagram or know where this wire goes connected to? as i think that this is why my VSS does not work. Thanks

So that means that I could bolt up an Xterra AUTO tranny to my 92xe ? What do you mean with HD Models? Cuz I'm planning on changing my tranny, some what sick with it

yea, none of my components move... it's just that play. And with that play I cant lay back and drive with one hand on the wheel.. i have to have both and be moving it from side to side (but not much) only between that play, to drive straight. If i let the wheel go while driving in a straight line it wont start running all over the place, so alignment is good. But I'm tired of that play, due to the other cars that i have dont have that.

hey guys.. update on that... I took another video of it cuz i was under the truck.. moved the steering shaft and it did the same.. so i guess it's loose inside the steering box. mmm any pics on which bolt to tighten up? i'll upload the vid in a bit.. just have to go get the cam in the truck.

How do I tighten the steering play? please see the video as that'll explain and show my problem. And that video was taken with the truck off and completely stopped. thanks!

Yea....I already had enough damage... so I just went ahead with a mallet and chisel at the bearings and pull it out.. center shield was frozen to the spindle... so hit that with mallet and chisel as well until it snapped in half. took it off and had to file the spindle down to be able to put the new bearing in all the way. Took some pics of the spindle and such..but it's late right now 1.34am here and I'm just about to go to bed so.. but anywho. the PF is up and running good now.. thanks to all of you. Hi Grim...Yea I already removed the 2 bolts and caliper... I read that I'd have to pull a bit then push it in so that the outer bearing comes out.. tried that a bunch of times and nothing.. stuck/wont budge.. The bearings are bad.. missing some..and the rest are like chewed up. The center shield of the bearing wont budge from the spindle. I've even went ahead and hit it with a iron mallot and chisel, and still nothing. I also took off those other screws that hold the base of the lugs to see and nope... this sucks Also I'm not sure if the bearings they gave me at AdvanceAuot are the correct ones...they seem too big Part#'s : Seal: S-710072 MotorCity Bearings and seals/FederalMogul Taper Bearing Cup: S-A37 MotorCity Bearings and seals/FederalMogul Bearing: S-LM 300811 MotorCity Bearings and seals/FederalMogul

Nope, no belt sqealing, just the lights lighted up.... after going out of water the lights turned off...anywho... working with the disk bearings now so i'll be taking care of that later on...

Thanks Frozen... The cotter pins/screws were well frozen to take "Castle" nut off..took those off, but it had like a washer with thread instead of a castle nut. mmmm the bearings were F*d it was actually missing some bearings.. thing is I cant take the disk off... it's frozen stuck on it... should i use a puller to take the disk off, or is there an easier cheaper alternative to take those bearings out.?

So i was driving down the road, and all of a sudden the RHD of the vehicle started to squeak so i was like ok, and i stopped at home and checked the brakes, and those seemed ok, but they kept on squeaking.. anywho i took off today and then like 3 min. driving and the PF jolted to the right as if i pressed the brakes but to the right only.. it jolted every 30 seconds or so.. i was like WTF.. so i turned around... but i noticed that while i was turning left the sound became louder.. while turning right it didnt sound... but i checked the brakes before and those seemed ok.. so i was like damn.. can it be the bearing? so once i got home again, and i looked at the disk.. i notice that the cap in my front wheel (RH Side) was like popping out of place.. so i got a flathead screwdriver and popped it completely off and out of it came some thing that looked that could be from in there.. but what really had me wondering is that it smelled like if it was burnt. so is it the bearing or the brakes? and if it's the bearing, how would i go on to take it off as i cant find anything on the FSM, and if it's in there where to look at then. Sorry for the post being so long...

My best friends PF when you put the key in the ign. switch , and you move it to a certain point between Lock and 1, the dash and system turn on like on 3 but on 2. any info on this? As he doesnt want to have/need two different keys
