    the viscosity is good. Oil change was about a month ago.. i used 10-30
  3. Is that possible? my 92 xe 2wd Aut. this afternoon lit up, so i went and added a qt. of oil and it still lit up, it flashes and stays lit, checked the oil and it's full...New oil pressure sensor? is that the one next to the oil filter? thanks.
  4. Well title says it... how long till the truck dries out and stops running? How much could i still drive after the "E" line on the fuel gauge? cuz the needle is on there but the fuel light hasnt turned on. Will it turn on soon? cuz it has never turned on and i checked the bulb and it's ok, changed it and it still wont turn on so.. yea.. how much more could i drive after/under the "E" empty line.??? like to atleast drive to a gas station., cuz i dont want to stay stuck. Cuz i dont have a RED can.
  5. Hello there, I recently went thru that same problem. When driving the PF just didnt go from one moment to another. it went to "neutral" all by itself. Had to be towed back home. Anyways.. took the tranny down, took the torque converter off and took it to the tranny store and they told me that that was my problem. bought a new one and also bought the trans. oil filter and gasket. plus around 10 qts of oil to be sure. Filled the TC with oil then installed. And also installed the filter with its gasket. tried to turn the truck on and nothing, checked everything over. Found out the neutral safety swith got messed up aswell... took it apart and found out it was broken inside. Bought a new one and installed it. Turned the truck on and put it in drive and it took off. So yea.. check your TC and if it's like you said that the oil felt grainy then yea.. check that out too as you might have metal shavings in your oil. If anything while you're investigating just come back and ask...

  7. BACK ON THE ROAD GUYS... it was the power converter after all, then the neutral safety switch Thanks for the heads up on where to look.
  8. Would having the neutral safety/inhibitor switch not installed, cause my PF not to start? Or would I be able to start it anyways with out it? Thanks.
  9. Well... where to buy one? As I have searched and searched and found two places but no pics what so ever of the part. Any Part number for this? Or does any of you have one in good working condition willing to sell it? Thanks..
  10. Thanks Silverton.. re checked that and it was hooked up right. BUT i decided to take the inhibitor switch apart.. could hold myself anymore.. and well to my surprise it was broken inside., so that's why it didnt move from "2".. now to see where could i get one

  12. inhibitor switch? also with the key off the switch, I could move down from parking to any other gear without pressing brake. funny didnt do that before...
  13. ****UPDATE*************with video well guys took the tranny down and took a look at some mechanical stuff, and well the torque converter was f'ed up.. opened up the oil pan of the trans and everything looked good nothing messed up. so changed the oil filter and the torque converter. Re installed the tranny, but when i went to turn it on it didnt start. Now i did notice something different, when i lasted turned it off. it was in parking on both the trans. floor shifter and on the dash. Now when i went to turn it on the floor shifter was still on parking BUT the dash said it was on "2", So I imagine that thats why it didnt want to turn on. any way to fix this up to see if the truck will finally drive? thanks.
  14. Yea I plan on doing it with a donor vehicle.. as I could get some arond for 550-800 bucks..compared to the 1100. Warranty I suppose so... mm, he has worked on my gramps car before.. and supposedly he's a transmission mechanic, who get this.. specializes in trans. and he told me he has worked on a couple that have gotten to his shop with trans. problems. He also told me it could be the converter or anything else, that he has to check it cuz it could be broken. and that a clogged oil cooler will still let trans. get the gears..and wouldn't go to 'N' all by itself. anyways he said he has to check it to see what it really is, cuz if its just the converter well then it would be less. a shift kit? what's that?
  15. Well... has any of you done a swap like that before and is everything bolt on? because the mechanic. told me that he'll charge me $1,100 to fully redo the trans. So I think I'm better off doing the swap what do you all think?

  19. Would a messed up transmission computer do this? Cuz I just saw one on ebay for 90 bucks, but its for the 4x4 one.. will it work on mine? *not 4x4*

  21. yes i did... so that means my ecu erased the codes am I right?
