Compression rod?.... translating to english is a problem now We just call it rod brushings... I don't know "compression rod"... it could be it, next to the tires and brakes. Didn't help, did I?

I had the same issues and the bushings were the problem.

You are a lucky guy, inherited a Pathy. The biggest defect is the rust, worldwide defect. And where are the pics?

Is that a stock Nissan Terrano bush guard? never seen one like that.

I don't mind the winter, only have heavy rain and strong wind at the most and then I only have to drive slower as there are many stone pavement streets and tends to get really slippery.

If it wasn't for eBay I wouldn't have bought the parts for my Terrano at a fair price or wouldn't have bought them at all. As far as my experience goes (some years, now) I LOVE EBAY. Had a bad deal, too, and also turned out great, just have to have everything documented and as for the parts, you have to be sure that that is what you need without a doubt.

What's a KA? Why would anyone want to change a manual transmition for an automatic? I don't think it's a good idea...

Well I really don't know how good it is for the wallet, I have only seen 1 from the 70's live on a classics car exposition. It's not a common car here in Portugal, in fact there seems (I think) to be 1 or 2 in all Portugal just like our friend here has. They were never sold here. I just like the looks of it alot, what can I say?...
