  1. the screw method refers to turning the screw on the ECU, usually located under the pass. seat, there are 2 lights a red one and a green one, the screw should be turned all the way counter clockwise before you even touch it, to read the codes, turn the screw fully clockwise until it stops, watch the blinking lights, the ECU will cycle thru the different modes, first mode is one flash, red and green together, second mode is 2 flashes red and green together, you want the third mode which is red and green together 3 blinks, right after the third blink turn the screw fully counter clockwise than observe the blinks, the red light will blink first than the green, count how many times each color blinks, than post the code, the code for all ok is 5 red 5 green. after you read what ever code there is they will repeat or will flash another code if there is one, when you are done turn the screw fully clockwise again, wait until you get to mode 5, 5 red 5 green blinks than turn the screw fully counter clockwise again and you are done.

this method applies to earlier pathfinders not sure if this method is the same for your 2003 perhaps someone else can clarify

  2. I went out before to adjust my hand brake and I glanced thru this thread first, so I go outside I have the brake adjusting tool and my floor jack, jack up the rear of the truck, chock the front wheels I'm all set to go under and adjust those star wheels and it hits me DUH !!! I have rear discs there are no star wheel things to adjust!!!

So I did it with 2 -12mm wrenches, much better now !!!

  3. Per the factory service manual, "camber, caster and king pin inclination are preset at factory and can not be adjusted"

Ok, so my front tires are wearing on the inside, and I know camber measures the angle the tire is leaning in and out, so if the camber is not adjustable than

    1. how do you bring the camber back to the correct adjustment so the tire wears evenly??

    2. if only the toe in and toe out is adjustable what does an alignment shop adjust when they do an alignment??

I thought I could loosen the 2 strut mounting bolts and adjust how the spindle attaches to the strut??

Anybody shed some light on this for me please??

    Thanks all

  4. To all: I listed the service manuals that I have, the manuals that I have that are actually paper copies I am not selling, if you need something out of one of the paper manuals I will be glad to scan a few pages but not the whole section. Any of the PDF. manuals I will be glad to send to you for free. Lastly the Nissan FAST program is a very large folder, about 4.5 GB's, I did not list it on here to share as it is too large to send and takes to long for me to upload it as it has to be uploaded in about 9 parts. I only mentioned I had the FAST program in case anyone wanted me to look up anything for them. The Nissan FAST program is still available online, that is where I got my copy and I will be more than happy to assist anyone that needs help in setting it up but once again I will not send it online to anyone. One other option someone just asked me about is sending it by mail on a DVD, that I could also do if one wanted to, but as I said it is available for download, some sites that still have it are listed below, Thanks

  5. did the truck come with those bumpers and does it have anything else on it that wouldn't normally be on the pathfinder??

If I was a dealer I could replace the wheels and tires and put some stripes on it and say it's a special edition, but actually making up a decal or plate not many dealers would do that I don't think

reminds me of the PT Cruiser, just about everyone of them you see on the road have a limited edition sticker on the rear, funny thing is if they all have it how limited are they??? LOL

  6. good suggestions for everyone

    now about your other question,LOL

"Now, can someone tell me the largest tires I can fit on my stock rig? :D "

you can fit 44's just take the fenders off!! LOL

  7. I would agree highly with using the regular NGK plugs, the Nissan's seem to run best on them, also I always recommend using the factory wires if possible, My Sentra was having a problem stumbling off the line, it had fairly new aftermarket wires on it, bought a set of factory wires and the stumble went away.

The knock sensor can make a huge difference, on the Infiniti Q45 we used to have it ran so bad you couldn't even power brake it and break the tires loose, it was a dog, had to replace the fuel pump and that helped a little but after replacing the 2 knock sensors the car felt like a 4 door corvette!! What a difference.
