  1. One of my co-workers is at his wit's end with this Toyota it is a 92 4x4 pickup, V6, one owner 70K original miles, he says it will be running fine than all of a sudden it will stall out and than run like crap. He has the FSM and has followed all the procedures as to this condition, he has a new coil, igniter, cap, rotor, plug wires and plugs, fuel pump I think he said was new also. He did tell me he pulled the number 6 wire off the cap and it had no spark. I was thinking the pickup under the rotor but he said he tested that and it was ok also. He has no clue on what else to look at , he thinks it may be the distributor but I wanted to see if anyone else had any ideas. Oh, no codes either,

    thanks

  2. mine did something similar today, I've been trying to get the cruise to work and today on my way home I happen to turn the cruise on and notice the "cruise" light is lit up, I thought wow I haven't seen that before, so I 'm messing with the set and accel buttons and I turn off the highway onto the ramp to turn onto the road that takes me home and when I come to the stop sign I notice the brakes aren't stopping the truck very well, so I make my turn and I'm driving down the road and I notice even when I take my foot off the gas the truck is maintaining the same speed!! So I move the shifter into neutral and the RPM's rise up to about 4000, put it back in drive and they lower back to 2000, it did that a few times, than went back to normal, I guess the cruise was trying to work, fortunately it stopped and made it home ok.

  3. put the sensor in yesterday, had a little hard time getting the plug out than couldn't get the sensor in, had to remove the EGR valve to get some more room, also replaced the spark plugs, the one's that were in there were NGK but they were not the right heat range. No more engine light !! Oh, and the plug for the sensor was there already it just had a cap in it.

  4. anyone know how many gallons your supposed to be down to before the light will come on? The gas tank is like 18.3 gallons isn't it? I put 16.8 in mine today and the light wasn't on and I know the bulb works at least still doesn't mean the light works though.

  5. Don't know if my guy checked the timing, he put a new belt and tensioner on, truck runs perfect other than an exhaust leak somewhere, think it may be the muffler I saw some rust on it and it looks like it is the original muffler, I also still have to replace the O2 sensor.

  6. bought or copied their designs, there were 4 pathfinders at this junkyard, a 94, two 93's and a 92 I think, I know only the 94 had the round dash. And the last Nissan I saw was a Hardbody pickup, talk about stripped it was just the cab laying on the ground, no frame no bed no engine NOTHING, but it had the one thing that made my day, the glove box latch and even though it's not the one with the lock it still fit in the pathfinder glove box and it works !! The wiper washer bottle the 94 had one but the pumps looked like they had been leaking, I got the 2 I took from the 93, the front one looks (and now that I put it in works and no leaks BONUS!!), stil have not come across a good transfer case shift boot or working pneumatic struts. Oh the window rubber on my pathfinder was so brittle it came out in about 10 peices, but the one I bought today went right in with some WD40 to help it.

  7. no, that was from my Hardbody, and it is not from AC it was from Jim Connor Racing, I just stripped the paint and repainted it to use on the pathfinder, I am going to put an original Jim Connor Racing sticker on it after I put it on the truck

  8. Went to the local junkyard today got some good stuff, alot of things I needed here is a pic:

I got a bunch or relays, 2 door lock clips 2 door lock sensors (one I cut the harness), the pass. side front door window rubber, THE GLOVE BOX LATCH !!!!! that alone was worth the trip!!, rear cargo area top trim, battery hold down, battery hook, plug from the engine harness, front and rear wiper washer pumps one looks almost new, visor transfer case shifting instruction label (mine is worn out), and some assorted screws and bolts, not bad for $21, oh can't say I told them about everything I took home.....

  9. Ok, finally got to the bottom of this mystery, went to my buddies shop who did the engine swap today, he still had the old engine, he found the EGR temp sensor, turns out it connects to a plug that is on the engine harness, that is why I did not see it in the service manual as I was looking at the under hood diagram. anyway went out to the pathfinder and looked for the sensor ( now that I knew where it was) and it is not there, only thing is a plug. Than found out that the engine harness that is on the JDM engine in the truck now does not even have a plug for this sensor. So I removed the engine harness from the old engine and will run the 2 wires from the EGR temp sensor to the under hood harness instead of replacing the whole harness. As to there being 2 plugs there is only one. Other thing is in the FSM looking at the engine harness it says the EGR temp sensor is For California , than I just remembered the old engine was from a junkyard vehicle not sure which one, so maybe the car/truck they got the old engine from had Ca. emissions, but if that was the case the ECU shouldn't throw a code for something it did not have in the first place?? Who knows, I'm going to wait to the engine cools and connect the sensor and see what happens, thanks
