  1. ok now we have a new sound. when ever i hit the gas and hold it around 1250 to 1500 rpm i get this hard core grinding clunking noise. at first i thought it was the suspension being under stress but tonight i was sitting at a light and i took it out of drive put in to neutral and pressed the gas and there it was. so i know its comming from the engine bay area. got any ideas. no power loss issues to speak of. no back fires. so i at a loss. any help guys. (or is this a presign of t-belt snapping?)
  2. no they did not diagnose a t belt form the click they said the opened some sort of thing to check it? but it does sound like a freaking disel. the click i discovered and they said it was the manifold leak. but any way what kinda prices am i looking at? and where should i go? i am definatly doing this next month ASAP so as soon as i get my ss check its time to rip her down. thanks for all your help.
  3. Timing belt 13028-0B785 - Timing belt tensioner 13070-42L00 - Timing belt tensioner stud 08216-62510 - Timing belt tensioner spring 13072-0B700 - Cam seals (x2) 13042-0B001 - Water Pump 21010-12G28 - Thermostat 21200-V5015 - Radiator Hose - Lower 21503-09G00 - Belt - A/C 02117-90523 - Belt - Alternator, Fan 02117-40023 - Belt - Power Steering 11920-7B405 ok so found the list. what do i need and dont need. no work has been done as far as i can tell. so i know i will be replacing at least one belt the bottom one? (which ever that is) i can see cracks in it so i know its getting ready to go. other two maybe buy them just in case. then what tools am i looking at?
  4. slick you got any ideas as to what else i should be replacing in there when i am doing the belt? i had found a thread on here before but i cant find it now. and uea i know i am kinda repetitive with this belt parts thing. just wanting a straight answer thats all. thanks slick
  5. what kinda work is the relocation? and what is the price?
  6. i am working on a parts list for replacing the belt. then just getting money. and then i am diving in. any recomendations on the manifold? replacement options. only requirement is it has to be do it your self. lol
  7. so i have had this sound for a while now and am now trying to get to the bottom of it. when ever i hit the gas (any load or rpm) i get this clicking noise from my engine. it sounds like it is comming from the passenger side area. i know when i went in and had that nissan 100 point inspection done they said i had a going bad timing belt and then a cracked exaust maifold. could either of these be what i am hearing? thanks in advance guys. ben
  8. did not even know that it was hacked. wow. but if you want to email me them you can instead of using the site drapanwol16@aol.com
  9. good to hear about the balancer. thanks zonian. hey hows that parts/tool list comming? i am thinking about getting the parts this comming week and then doing it a few weeks after thanksgiving. thanks again for ya'lls help. ben
  10. you guys would be surprised at the willingness of a girl to learn how to weld. as long as she is not a prissy a$$ then your good most the time. i have been able to teach my last three girls how to use a plasma cutter and the most recent how to stick weld. so there really is no harm in asking. just play it out well and show her a benifit that dont have to do with your truck. lol
  11. yea i re-read the manual and did find the section for it i must have overlooked it the first time. lol. so then how do you know what steps to do and which to not do?
  12. where is the harmonic balancer? easy fix or did you pay for it to be done?
  13. the whining noise only happens when i step on the gas. if i take my foot all the way off the pedal then it stops put it back on and its right back. dont take much to get it to whine. if any one has a list of parts i should use then by all means hook me up. i figure i should replace as much of the parts as i can sence it has not had much TLC in all its years. first time the brakes were replaced were by me. guy drove on bare brakes for like 6 months before he sold it to me. i had to buy all new rotors because of the damage to them. thanks for the help you are offering. maybe we can work out a deal for repayment or something. ben
  14. ok so would a whining noise when i step on the gas be a serious noise? it started after i went to redfeather and back last night. or could it be that the wheel well guards are now gone because of rust and its just wind tunnel sounds? how much did it cost you to fix your t-belt? what parts am i looking at that are absolutly essential? thanks guys. i would love to get some help with this. i need it done before i leave in april for iowa. i know that would be super bad for it to go 900 miles. ben
  15. ok cool thanks guys. the only reason i said aluminum is because i have a few piecs laying around form the previous owners of my house. part of an underlaying for house siding. will it rust longer or no diff?
  16. i have a bad rusty hole under my back seats. i was thinking of cuttig out the rust and then putting a piece of alluminum sheeting over it and riviting it then spraying on some truck bed liner. under and in the cab? what you all think will it work? also how the hell do you guys get the mud out from undernieth the truck? just crwal under and spray away? also is it safe to spray my engine down with a high power washer? to remove mud. my engine compartment is caked in mud. thanks. dpotn mean to highjack.
  17. yea i went a bought a differant wiring harness and some baha lights. i hooked them up and bang there we go. it was cake. i think my old lights were the cause of the short. but i say now i have a set of wires to hook up the lights i am putting on a roof rack. lol. thanks again man
  18. i also like that design its a nice one. maybe incorperate a tube bumper with it. huh. thanks. man ok feel free to high jack now. lol. thanks guys.
  19. the directions on the back of the wiring harnes that i bought say to go to the battery a fuse is built into the red wire that goes to the battery. can i just purchase a relay and then got o the battery with out hooking into the head lights?
  20. ok so i went and tried to flippen wire in my fog lights. well they were working just fine untill i turned over the motor. then the fuse blew and know i cant even turn the key to the on position with out blowing the fuse. i have connected both ground wires to good metal contact points. the red wire goes straight to the battery from the switch. the white goes from the switch to the lamps. and then the second ground goes from the lamps to the radiator mounting bracket. what should i check next? could the wires at the lamps be hooked up backwards? are my grounds not good ones? (i only am hooking up one lamp at a time and then checking it do i need both hooked up? this is starting to piss me off royally. :furious: thanks guys for any help.
