Cold air is drier and more dense, this increases the friction of air moving around your vehicle. While driving or just with the wind blowing this creates static electricity. Your Pathy has rubber tires wich insulate the metal body from the ground. When you touch your vehicle you provide the ground needed to basically create a small lightning bolt. An old friend of mine has a pace maker, the static shock kinda makes him paranoid. Every fall, he ties a short length of bare copper wire to his hitch and lets it rub the ground. He swears he has never been shocked since doing this.
I am aware of how cold air is drier lol.
But I don't wear jackets half the time. Most would call me hard headed. But I call it "i have heat for a reason." lol So jeans and a t-shirt aren't exactly ways for me to create alot of static i believe.

Anybody else notice that getting out of your WD21 in cold weather, you seem to attract more static than usual?
It seemed like the cold spell we got here in PA for a while, everytime I got out of my truck I'd get shocked.
Just a weird thing I noticed.

So wait. Is the VG33 a bigger bore or stroke? I'm now confused. I always assumed the cylinder walls were bored out.
-
I'll mess with it tomorrow. today was just a bad day cause I wasn't feeling too hot.

That link has where they built a VG33 for a 94/95 pathfinder.
and another guy just posted a thread a week or two ago about it

I'll add this too; I have heard of more than one person have weld issues where the pipes meet the flange for the head, as well as needing to get the flange machined flat on the Thorleys. They are a little stouter (.02 thicker tube IIRC), and have more coating options, but aren't really better in the quality stand point.
i've only had one pair that hasn't been garbage and the good pair I've had is the only one i've seen out of all my friends who have had the headers that hasn't been junk. You're about the only person i've ever seen defending them.
Thorleys are wayyyyy better in terms of quality. Just my personal experience with pacesetter is enough to keep me from buying their products.

I gotta call BS on #5

I have rode in one chopped like this...TONS of FUN ! You get the bounce of a low-rider truck but the air of a vert. This one had a top that should have latched back on, but didn't go so well. For a while this truck was raised and on 33's and due to the notching in the frame folded in on itself and crushed the top, so back down it went and permanent vert!
I'd rather drink bleach than be seen in one of those things.

14.6? Are you serious? I've been averaging around 21mpg on my WD21... That's weird.
-
For those who have these headers, are you happy with them? I was looking into getting a set. I have a perfect exhaust right now but would love to give my pathy a little more pep and nice sound.
I've had worse luck with them than good. I'd stay away personally because you get what you pay for. You go cheap on engine internals, and they break right? Why is your exhaust any different?
I've seen alot of good luck around here with Thorley. But honestly it's your money, go with what you want.

it takes about 5 mins with a 12mm socket and put the washers underneath each bolts after the stiker plate...No need to take apart anything thats in the way
I'm pressed for time alot.
-
Heh, toby, if you get any in, give me a shout and I'll definitely head down there! Would be well worth the drive for me to meet up with someone more experienced and who I know won't bend me over their knee
Dunno about more experienced lol. And i dunno the knee thing. I'm older than you? lol.
-
turned off the "doors open" or whatever thing at the way back dome light. The middle of the switch. And that stopped it for now. Whenever I get the time i'll take the latch apart and check it.
-
just space the bottom with a couple of thin washers on each bolt bud
bottom of what?
-
laziness is why i'm not searching. lol.
I'll mess with it on my next day off. Just been a bit hectic lately.
-
i figured it was a sensor in the back hatch. Guess i'll start tracing down grounds. it just started a few days ago though. it's just so annoying.
-
At random my dome lights will blink. And the "door open" thing will blink with them. I am pretty sure it's in the hatch.
But it comes on at random. Like I hit a bump and it blinks. Or i turn a sharp turn and it does it. Pretty sure it's with the hatch though as both dome lights are lighting up.

My truck just kinda idles high for a minute then dies down.
my S10 on the other hand is REALLY finicky as of lately. I went to park it in the garage and it didn't want to start. Then the brakes wanted to lock up. After I got it running and let it idle and all it ran fine. but it's like it's mad at me for driving the Nissan lol

Ugh. Don't remind me about allergies lol. I'm suffering right now.

convertible and pickup truck DO NOT mix at all. I love a good ol' lowered HB, or any minitruck. But this here is horrendous. I stand by my post above.
-
Toby, you live in PA? Where about? I'd love to come poke around your yard - I've never even been IN a wrecker yard yet so I'm not entirely sure I'll know what I"m doing - a little first hand education would make me a LOT safer I'm sure
Gettysburg, PA. I'm bout maybe forty-five to an hour south of you I think.
-
-
Hm, so now the only issue is finding a wrecker around here... living in PA sucks, lol. Absolutely nothin 'round here.
Agreed. And we own a junkyard lol. Thing is we got 3 or 4 R50's, just all C4C trucks. So the engines are seized. Sucks because all of them were super clean trucks as well. And we only got maybe 2 or 3 WD21's and all of them are junk.
-
Pansy magnet? Yea... Standard on r50s
Lol.
