  1. Yeah...there's a pre-00 QX4 in a lawn and grass commercial here...funny. Just saw that insurance commercial one too.
  2. mehh, I never use them...plus I always go under highway over-passes and I hate when they constantly turn on and off...you can have mine
  3. -bounce- Yep. he's right. Have a pannenger put their finger over it while the lights are in "auto" and it's daytime...
  4. An excellent reply, and exactly what I was going to say
  5. No, that's not what the "(!)" stands for... TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) That's what it is. The mechanic checked the brakes, but he didn't check tire air pressure? My guess is one of them is below 35 PSI and triggered it.
  6. Maybe I read this wrong, but how does an intake make you "look" more powerful, unless someone is staring under the hood?
  7. You won't find a Gen. 1 S/C Fronty (I assume your talking about the 98-00's) That became an option on the Gen. 2's (01-04) Go for it! I always liked those a lot, they're a little hard to find, tho. The extra power is pretty welcomed! X's are, well, X's...unless you go for an SE S/C, then they're a little distinguishable. Either one of them react really nicely to mods, tho. Good Luck!
  8. Stay away from that crap...there are no performance "chips" for the Pathfinder. http://www.4x4parts.com That's your first place to ship for Pathy parts, also check out http://www.summitracing.com. Another good resource. Unfortunately, the VG isn't a terribly powerful platform. There's not a whole lot your going to get out of it with simple bolt-ons. It's not made to be quick...what it IS made for is taking a beating (see "max stryker" ) and extreme reliability. Welcome to NPORA, enjoy the info.!!
  9. Ok...I thought you had already bought the wheels in which case, I didn't want you to be SOL, that's all
  10. If people have stated it won't clear the brakes, why test that conclusion in the first place?
  11. Don't bet on it...I'm sure in '03 the P5's were sharing some sorts of pieces from the FoMoCo parts bin Either way, nice ride dude Find yourself an aftermarket turbo from the Mazdaspeed Protege and have yourself a pretty sweet drag car
  12. What are you...19 or something?
  13. Ok I tried that yesterday, no such luck with finding it loose. However, I removed my AC skid yesterday (which is a PITA to do by yourself) and threw on some anti-seize compund on the 4 bolts (which are not galvanized so they're rusting pretty bad) I put the skid back on again and didn't quite tourque down the bolts as much and today, I haven't duplicated the clunking. Maybe the skid was binding on the subframe? I mean, I first started to notice it after that torrential rainstorm, which subsequently submerged the skid for an entire day.  We'll see...
  14. Aren't the 98-00 and 01-04 Fronty's, chassis-wise-the same? Actually, even mechanically? As far as I knew they had different sheet metal
  15. I'll give this a shot and post what I find. Thanks!
  16. Did that, they look alright to me, no tears or anything. My Pathy's only got 65K on it...isn't that a little soon for ball joints to be going? I hardly ever wheel it either because there's no place to go. Those are expensive aren't they...geez...holiday's are coming up, yikes :o
  17. Hey all. I've been noticing more and more a horrible clunking coming from the front (drivers side) when I turn the wheel, pretty much to full lock in forward/reverse. It seemed to start happening recently after Tropical Storm Ernesto flooded a lot of streets and I was in a lot of water that day. Bushings? Struts?. The struts are on the list for replacement, as are the tires. When I'm driving off road I can also feel that clunking in the steering wheel...don't really know enough about suspension to make a diagnosis. Help? Thanks a lot!
  18. If your looking at a 98-00 you won't find it in S/C trim. BUT, those older ones do have a lot less stuff to be ripped off on the trail! Sorry to hear about your Pathy...I too was watching your progtress. And I also wanted a Fronty originally instead of the Pathy (Found one @ Carmax...'03, 4x4 S/C, CC, Long Bed...68K miles, though) but they wanted almost $18K for it! Good luck to you
  19. Sheesh, that sounds like something it's not suppossed to be!
  20. I got it in today...it fits perfectly! Thanks for the help, guys (and girls)
  21. It's a Protege5, sweet! Those things always looked like a lot of fun to drive. Good handling, MPG, looks and utility. Low miles, good price, nice choice!
