Horry! Congrats on the purchase!
-
For the price your gonna pay for all those parts plus painting, you might as well put a down payment on a 99.5+ R50, IMHO...OR go all out and get into a VQ powered 01+, just my thought
-
Half a dozen O-E 800's, pack of Camels, porno mags., pre-paid un-traceable cell phone, personal DVD player, astonauts ice cream and a Beretta 9 (please don't listen to me )
-
Sounds to me like you are volunteering yourself
-
Do it! Buy it! You know you want to...and ditch the Rovers, or else, put the tow straps in the back of the Pathy
-
It's a Holy insult to my eyeballs. Thank you, I'm dying now -thnkboutit-
-
A likely solution BTW, welcome Rovergirl! Post pics when u can
-
Not sure of that would be the solution...correct me if i'm wrong, but wouldn't ALL the dash lights be controlled by that one fuse? If so, and the fuse were bad, wouldn't the whole dash be dark?

OOH! Ouch!!

Ok I'll answer what I can of these My '02 SE doesn't have All Mode, however from what I know, there's not much of a difference between the two as far as 4wd goes. AWD a different story...if your into that sort of thing, and the terrain you travel varies a lot (and you don't mind degraded fuel economy) then go for it. If you prefer a manual T-case (in addition to lack of a lot of belles and whistles) opt for an SE...prob. save you a few $$'s as well. My SE came w/ the sunroof and audio package which, for the most part, makes it an LE minus the (IMO) cooler wheels, leather, Nav. (if applicable) heated seats and, of course, All Mode. I absolutely love it! As was said, crawl underneath and look for an orange sticker on the back side of the rear diff. If it's an '03 you should still have one...there's also the jack it up, turn the rear wheels manually test to see if they turn in conjunction or opposite each other. Not heard of this...though it says you can use 4HI up to 50 mph, I wouldn't really be traveling that fast anyways Have not heard of the pre0cat issue at all  What I HAVE noticed is, if your opting for an LE, it undeniably comes with the BOSE Changer. It's a POS to say the least...they are notoriously bad at playing CD's and throwing all sorts of error codes. I would swap that out immediately or else, test it out for a LONG time to see if yours is one of the few that works properly. If it's finiky (with CD's) inform the dealership IMMEDIATELY to have them take care of it. They're not a cheap repair otherwise. Oh and tires? Do you mean mismatched as in, brands or age? I mean when I got mine, they too were "mis-matched" as the fronts were brand new and the rears were older. But they were all the same kind. If that's the case, then tell them about it and get them to install new ones on the rear in order to complete the sale. If all they did was put brand A on the front and type B on the rear, but they're all new otherwise...your kinda outta luck :sniff: Hope all this helps you make a better decision!

Thanks a lot, man
-
Yeah, stupid a$$ slow connection
-
Ok that helps, thanks a lot! I was too hell-bent on looking for screws on the bottom of the dash, as is the case in pre-00's.
-
Ok HERE'S the center dash... Here's the underside of the center dash. Note there are no screws underneath it. Here's where my ashtray is located. And with the ashtray removed, here is the center console screw underneath it. And ideas?
-
Not really... Example 1 Example 2 Trust me, it's an issue with some R50's... Also, if you DO intend to remove the cluster, make sure you know exactly what your doing. Beaking one of the needles is the last thing you need.
-
I'm looking for the two lower nuts to remove in order to get the plastic bezel off the dash. I've got a slightly different setup than yours Pezzy as well as yours, Veng. I think the first nut I have to remove is underneath the ashtray, and then go from there? I'm putting mine exactly where yours is, Pezzy Ahh yes, AllMode, I wish

Update: EVAP CS purge flow monitor & Knock sensor

It will probably come back on, that code has been stored in the ECU now...From what I remember, the ECU's are a sort of three phase type deal? That is, it takes 3 errors of the same nature for the light to be triggered? Not sure if that's correct or not... -
It's a little more than that...when it's real cold out my Pathy does that as well, and then they'll turn on when they want to. Hasn't done it in a long while, though...

Yeah there ARE 4 total...2 pass. and driver, front and rear. Exactly WHERE, I'm not sure. Not too sure about the fuel filter, but I doubt it's your cat. Has it been down on power? If your cat. WERE plugged or fouled there would be a decrease in h.p. in addition to a horrible egg smell when the engine was running. Does your Pathy exhibit that? -
Wow that looks great. Nicely done

I'm not gonna say much about prices cause I'm not, what you may call, an o2 efficianado Someone else will see this and chime in. Anyhow, buying a scanner isn't a bad idea at all. $70 is actually pretty cheap! -

FTW=For The Win One or more has likely failed...if you've never changed them in a 9+ year old R50 that's likely the culprit. Stay away from the stealership for replacement! -

o2 sensor FTW What year is your Q? Ever changed them? -
You mean like a "whining" noise, as speed increases, etc.?(sort of reminiscent of poor AM radio reception) Why would splicing at the cig. lighter allow that to happen?
