  1. That price is absolutely highway robbery...you can get a new aftermarket CV from AC for less than $100...I was quoted $70 for replacement at a local shop bringing the grand total for shaft, shipping, and replacement at less than $200 per side...$500 each? I would love some of what that mechanic has been smoking...seems like really good sh*t.
  2. Looks great...I've got the same kind of dent on my passenger side rocker panel from playin' a little too hard You did a great job on those. I've got some waiting to be welded onto my Pathy as well...can't wait for that!
  3. It could either be a tranny mount, an engine mount, or something in your rear axle...check your engine mounts if you can to make sure one isn't broken..you can also do the same with your tranny...if it's the axle...I'd recommend taking it to a shop if you can't inspect it yourself, or to someone you trust to look into it. Good luck!
  4. Welcome to another Virginian! I'm in Richmond!
  5. Hi, Nice looking white Pathy...have fun with the modding!
  6. Welcome! This one I've gotta see! Where are the pics?
  7. Great looking Pathy! Hell of a price too...damn, I paid 3k for mine! Good to hear you're happy with it...sounds like you're getting her all fixed up and things are going well. Congrats!
  8. I got mine for $100, but didn't have to yank it off, and someone even drove it down to Virginia for me Not bad...some sanding, painting, and it's as good as new...now if only AC would hurry up and send that damn mounting kit for it, I'd be a happy man! Hey, good deal though on the nerf bars...you've gotta be stoked!
  9. Very nice...congrats on the new shoes! :cool2:
  10. I've got a 3+2 lift with 32's, and even that looks good...I'd say 31's will look fine...and as far as the steering with the suspension lift comment...that's what L&P and Calmini are for...you can buy a beefed up steering system and take care of the weak stock steering problem.
  11. I happen to be very proud of my nasty blue interior
  12. You got that right!!!! Who needs a pretty looking 4x4 anyways (except for maybe SEMA)
  13. Congrats on the new OR X...a lot of guys in the local Xterra Club that I'm still a member of wheel the hell out of these things, and are lifting them and stuffing 33's under them...very sweet. The aftermarket is starting to catch up with the '05+ X's...so you should have no problems. I'm a former owner of an '03X, and it was a blast. The X Club I belong to is very cool about other trucks going with them to wheel...we've got Jeeps, Yotas, Pathfinders, Frontiers...etc...lots of fun. Good luck with the modding and wheeling, and try not to scratch it (until it has at least 500 miles on it)
  14. You Cali guys are among the lucky ones
  15. Thanks! Yeah, the FSJ's, and J Series are pretty much unstoppable off road...but so damn expensive to fix, and the parts are hard to come by sometimes...plus, rust get's to be a big time problem on anything over 20 years old...it was a constant battle to fix things almost weekly...I'd rather wheel something I enjoy having, rather than always fixing it JUST to wheel and hope it makes it the 100 miles back home...I don't believe in trailering a rig just to wheel
  16. Thanks for the great write up and pics! My '94 doesn't have airbags in it either, as I think it wasn't "mandatory" until '96 that all cars had at least a driver's side airbag. But yeah, my steering wheel, after 150k miles, has the little worn off chunks of plastic/rubber around the ring, so I think a nice new aftermarket wheel may be in order. Great Write Up!!!! Dave
  17. Thanks for the welcomes guys...I had bought the '03 X as a commuting/work truck only, and it was a 2wd as I knew I wasn't going to be wheeling and was taking a break from modding. I did have 32's on it with a torsion bar crank and the shackles just to give it a better look, but that was about it. My wife was kind of pissed that I was emptying every pocket with the Wagoneer, as well as her pockets, so she more or less insisted that when the Waggy died, I not get another Jeep as the mod urge was just too strong with me for Jeeps. So, I had sold the Xterra when I no longer had a work use for it and had gotten tired of the 2wd and wanted something I knew was reliable enough to make it a couple more years....I'll probably mod it when the wife's not looking But nothing too serious (wheels, tires, and a good solid Calmini lift), and call it a day. Weekend warrior is all I really am now for wheeling, so it's not like I'm taking it to Tellico or the Rubicon...more like Paragon Park and George Washington Nat'l Forest Dave.
  18. Hey all, just wanted to introduce myself. Some of you may have seen me on the wd21 forums as "SycoPathy", or the NOR.net forums as D_Path...just picked up a '94 XE-V6 about a week ago...interested in learning more about it, and I'm glad I found this site. I'm a former Nissan Xterra owner, and no stranger to wheeling and getting dirty...although I'm not sure I'm going that route with my Pathy, who knows? She might see a lift and larger tires yet! I've also owned two Jeep vehicles in the past...1, a 2000 TJ (Wrangler/"Wrong"ler), 33 in tires, 3.5 in. lift, locked front and rear, armor, racks, lights, etc...., and 2. an '83 Wagoneer Full Size Jeep, 35 in. tires, about 7.5 in of lift, Detroit Lockers Dana 44/AMC 20, 350 4bbl with an auto trans....but now all of that is behind me, and I'm trying to focus on learning more about my Nissan before I even think of doing anything serious to it "off road" wise... See you all around. Dave
