  1. 9K's are great if you don't mind crawling down and adjusting, but spendy. They make a auto adjust kit, but even the salesman at the shop I got the shocks from said not to waste my time with it. 5K's are a good mid road, not too soft, not too hard, react well on the trail. I've also heard good things about Pro Comp's but haven't tried em or payed attention to the response, as I don't have em.

  2. Hmmm interesting. My theory is if I'm gonna replace it, might as well upgrade it. Knowing that the manifolds are way to restrictive, I opted for tholey's ceramic headers as well. No being ceramic and not just the nickle coated ones, they will last a bit longer due to the fact they remove the heat slightly better. Now as far as send your's back, thats' just your call. Some one wiser than me once said, "To get the most out of these engine's you have to get them breathing and farting right." Well mine's been fartin just fine for a year now, no "heat" issues under the hood, and if I drive nice, I actually get a mpg increase. Seem to me, if you already have em, stick with em, but that's just my 2 pyreals.

  3. Shoot, that and the fact that it's illegal for any mechanic or exhaust shop to remove or render inoperable any catalytic converter device in any vehicle originally equipped with one...

Hehe, that why when I did my exhaust, I just ripped all the old stuff out, put in the headers myself, bought the goodies from one shop, and took it to another to get welded up. He asked what happened to the old Cat, I told him I smashed the exhaust on a rock off road, and it was wrecked.

  4. Ok, blocks are in. I had a slight mishap though. Just as I was tightening the last bolt in the front driverside corner, it sheared off at the nut. DOH, a bit too tight. oh well. I'll have to run and get another tomarrow.

Ok here's the wierd part. So I have '91, and the kit is a PA for 87-90, so guess what? All the bolts supplied by that kit fit just fine. Didn't need to get anything extra. Tomarrow I'll go get the replacement bolt, and I'm just gonna lengthen the power steering hoses, mod the radiator hoses, finally put in the oil cooler 88 gave me, and re-configure my relocated oil filter a bit. After all that, I'm gonna mess with my grill a bit (you'll see) and wire up some aux back up lights.

I'd have to say, so far, so good. The fun continues tomarrow...........

  5. Yeah, I put a cone K&N on mine and it whistles/ whine all the time at all rpm's. I have had it on there for about a year now, and I haven't gotten tired of it. Since the pitch of it follow the motor, I fool people all the time into thinkin I have a turbo. It'd be nice, but not quite the same.

  6. Don't get me wrong, I really like the other two designs. I'm just thinking about my poor printer's ink. at 50 bucks a shot for black, and 80 for color, I'm lookin for the simplest one, ya know.

  7. Because technically, it's lifting the vehicle. Plus, what the first question out of 75% of the newer members? "How do I crank my T-bars" or some variation. Plus it's a fairly easy thing to do, and just about any one can do it, therefor it's a modification from a stock setting.
