    Alternator

Yeh, I had a NAPA rebuilt alternator in mine from the previous owner that I just replaced that the rebuilt date stamp on the back wasnt even 2 years old. So I upgraded to the quest/villager one. Im sure 88 will post something too, I know he has been through I think at least 3 reading his posts.
  2. Well I finally decided to splurge and buy a 10 dollar battery for my digital camera, Some things I just hate paying so much for. HAHAHA! After the rain clears prob thursday Ill take a picture for you of my bracket. How you enjoying yours so far?
  3. Yeh, I am still able to tension it just like stock. It worked great for me, Ill have to get you a picture so you can see what Im talking about exactly. The only thing I bought was a longer belt by 2"s.
  4. You should of just made an attatchment bracket like I did, hell of alot easier and less time consuming, works great. Ill have to get some pictures of it if I can get a clear shot of the bracket on there with one of my buddies digital camera some day.
  5. Ok I made that rectangular plate, but i made it with two arms (kinda looks like a holy cross) The arms I bent so they squeeze the adjuster square on the Pathfinder so the plate cant go anywhere/side to side. So I put a nut, bolt and a lock washer in there. then from the center of that hole i market 1" up and center punched another hole. Drilled out a hole to fit the bolt into the bottom of the alternator. Keeping the center of hole to hole makes it snugg right up against the adjuster bracket so it cannot go anywhere. Now time to goto lappenes and get a longer belt and test it out.
  6. Hey, I got mine in there and all wired up and the top two bolts in also. Whats your idea on the adjusted bracket. It seems as if you use a metal plate (rectangle with a hole on either end) put it in front of the adjuster square and put a bolt there then also a bolt to connect to to alt. So the adjuster actually sits undernith the alt? Maybe not the best idea. But I have just started thinking.HAHA. Structure wise I dont know if its the best setup. Id rather put it back how it was designed. I also thought of where the adjuster bracket bolts to the block to put a spacer behind that and get a longer bolt so the bracket sticks off the block, But im not sure if the crank pulley will be in the way of that one. I know its close. But what you got for ideas????
  7. Yeh new 02 sensor. set timing and reset computer.
  8. Thats strange. Wonder what they could be for?
  9. I put them in yesterday after i had the idle problem fixed and the oxy sensor plugged back in and everthing working correctly. But it running rich. I had them in for about 20 minutes let the car warm up to operating temp then drove it and pulled a few and all blackened.
  10. Im talking about the extra added 4 bolts they add to the 91-95 kit, compaired to the 86-90 kit. Those 4 bolts compaired to the other bolts that are in the kit, not the factory ones. Im not a moron, hahahaha!
  11. Ok, since my problem is fixed its still burning rich, blackened plugs. I just replaced them yesterday with NGK plugs. any ideas?
  12. are they even longer bolts, they look as to be the same size in the photo, they just list them as the stronger grade 8 bolts.
  13. Hey I would rather not buy from AC From what I hear and I havent even gotten an email back from them because of a question I had. I can get a 3" body lift from performance accessories but the kit only covers years 86-90, and doesnt include the specail grade 8 bolts(4) that AC provides in their kit. My question is do you guys think these 4 grade 8 bolts matter. I have seen people on the web with the performance accessories kit on their 91-95 pathfinders before, but now when i goto search for their sites to ask them questions on their install I cant find them, go figure.
  14. Get the black ones, ar57's or something like that. They look like the rock crawler brand rims. They only cost abut 40-45 bucks a piece and are great. I had them on my 6" lifted cherokee and my buddy has them on his 5" lifted wrangler. So when offroading you dont have to worry about bashing or scrapping expensive rims if you gonna do any form or crock crawling.
  15. I have also noticed for some reason that the upper control arms from ac have different numbers, But if they are actually different I dunno
  16. Im not gona ship it, it would cost way to much Sorry
  17. are the upper control arms the same for a 86.5 to 97 hardbody and 87 to 95 Pathfinder
  18. I drilled out the top bolts that snapped. So I shouldnt have any problems now, knock on wood.
  19. I took out the ac because it didnt work anymore, and I have never used it before, Id rather have the windows down, im just that kind of person. Plus in place of the condensor im going to mount the tranny cooler. Yeh I found a picture of a kid on cardomain that had pictures of the bumper mounts so I took mine off. Out of the 4 bolts I snapped the top ones on each side. Ill have to drill them out. Thanks for your help.
  20. I was just wondering, I havent gotten my 3" body lift yet, but I have started taking apart the front end in getting ready for it and some other parts going in. I have so far taken out the whole air conditioning system, taken the front bumper, grill, side marker lights off. Im installing a transmission cooler inline with the stock one. The way I have taken off the front bumper I took it off where the bumper bolts to the bumper attatchments. Not to where it bolts to the frame. Out of the 8 bolts 4 snapped off and that was after I soaked them in PB Blaster for the entire night and when back and forth with the ratchet trying to take them off carfully. The new england weather/winters has made them brittle. Plus the fact Japan uses recyled metal. So Im gonna have to fix this problem before putting the bumper back on. I was going to take the bolts from the bumper attatchments to the frame out, but I def do not wanna snap them inside there if they dont need to be taken out for the body lifts relocation brackets. Because that is def not a spot where I wanna be drilling and tapping. But for those of you who have put a body lift on before please let me know if the relocation brackets are on the bumper end or the frame end. Heres a picture of the lift kit, if you could tell me which brackets in the picture are the ones that would be great also.
  21. I have more parts off of the 95 Back tire rack swing out carrier (must pickup) Complete Air Conditioning setup (must pickup) Factory mud flap set of 4
  22. yeh mines hiatchi also. Cool. Well off to the salvage yard, not gonna spend the 125 bucks for one from the parts store. Or if anyone has one laying around let me know.
  23. Well, yep its putting out 17 volts. GREAT! The voltage regulator is located inside the alternator correct?
  24. yeh they are called sway bar endlinks, just replace them they are cheap enough and come with new bushings. Or you could buy polyurethane(better) bushings to fix it.
