  1. I just bought my second Nissan Pathfinder. It is a 2005 SE 4x4 with sunroof, auto climate control, side airbags, Bose Premium Stereo, and aftermarket 20" wheels and tires. I also have a 95 Pathfinder SE-V6 with just 60k 1 owner miles. I love them both, and look forward to many, many happy miles with each. Its funny, my wife was begging to drive it home from the dealer, I have a feeling that her Supercharged Xterra is going to be staying in the garage for awhile
  2. I have a 95 Pathfinder that I am upgrading the black bumpers, grill, turn signal bezels, and outside power mirrors to the chrome package that was on my 94. I like the look of chrome quite a bit more than the black, and the black was starting to fade from 11 years of Southern California sun My question is will a front bumper from a Nissan Hardbody truck fit on the front of the Pathfinder. The reason I ask this is the front bumper currently has three pieces to it. The main front section, and left/right endcaps. Well the end caps that I ordered off EBAY have horrible fit and finish issues. I noticed that the bumper off of a Hardbody is all one piece so no fit and finish issues. The only question would be if it is possible to swap it out with the Pathfinders?? Any help would be greatly appriciated.
  3. One good thing out of it are the wheels and tires, not too shabby
  4. Dont sell. Its not always greener on the other side of the fence.
  5. Not quite sure about that since my Mercedes runs a 13.9 quarter mile, and a 2.5 Altima runs high 16's.
  6. Keep in mind that back in the day (early/mid 90's) 153HP wasn't all that bad. More than a Toyota 4Runner, Mitsu Montero, Ford Explorer (I think, but who really cares). Ya a Chevy Blazer had 190HP, but you sure couldn't tell by driving it. The only SUV that has out powered my Pathfinder during the same generation was a Jeep Grand Cherokee, and it had a 5.2 litre V8, so not really apples to apples ya know?
  7. It is crazy right now. I have a friend who runs a auto brokerage, and he gave me his password to get to the Idaho Auto Auction. I can look up any vehicle sold at the action for Boise, Salt Lake City, Sacramento, Reno, Eugene, Portland, and Spokane. What is really crazy is what the large SUV's are going for at the auction. For example I saw a 2004 Chevy Tahoe Z-71 4x4 loaded with rear buckets, DVD, sunroof, LOADED, with 30k miles..... SOLD for $15,300. Holy Sh@t!! That was a $45,000 vehicle just 2 years ago. And its not just GM, its everyone, here I will go check right now... 2005 Ford Exploder... oops Explorer Eddie Bauer 4x4 V-8 24k miles... $15,500. 2005 Ford F-250 SD Diesel 4x4, 20k miles 4 door, $26,900. that too is about a $50,000 rig. So life could be a lot worse, I could have just bought a diesel truck, put a 6" lift, huge wheels and tires, the thing wont wheel worth a damn, get HORRIBLE mileage, and now have my vehicle worth 1/2 of what I bought it for 1 yr ago. WOW??
  8. I don't know if it will work for a 04. I had them on a 93 SE and they didn't rub at all. Really they looked very nice.
  9. What looks really nice is a set of Xterra/Frontier 17" supercharged wheels. You can run a 265/70/17 without rubbing which equates to approx. a 32" tire. They look great and they would allow you to go custom, yet stay factory. Now if you wanted to upset some of the "rednecks" on this site, you should go with a 20" wheel. I have seen a 2nd generation Pathfinder with them, and it looks EXCELLENT! I have a set of 20" wheels on my wifes '02 Supercharged Xterra, which doesn't go offroad, its strickly for show, and go! Go BIG or don't go at all.
  10. A trip from Los Angeles California, to Boise Idaho just last week netted me a average of 20 mpg. That added up to about 335 to a tank with air blowing the whole time, and cruise set at 85. Not too bad!
  11. I got a set off ebay, they are all over. Check it out, they look real nice.
  12. You shouldn't have any problems. On one of my old Pathfinders a 93 SE 4x4, I ran a set of 265/65/17 Toyo AT's off of my SC Xterra without any mods. There was no problems, no rubbing, and they looked great.
  13. ok, ok, here is the breakdown: Plane tickets - $200.00 Gas-3 1/2 fillups - $162.00 Food - In & Out burger & Subway - $13.00 Driving across the West Coast in the nicest Pathfinder in the U.S. - PRICELESS!!! I can't get any pics right now, because my new puppy ate through my USB port for my camera to download pics, but there are pics of it at the dealers website: Carsbelowcost.com It is about 3/4 of the way down the page. Guess I will be going to Best Buy to get a new cord pssd
  14. He was asking $7995, gave him $6500, and worth EVERY penny! -bounce-
  15. Just got back with the new Pathfinder! This thing is immaculate... NO REALLY, it looks like it was time warped back to 1995 and driven off the showroom floor. I was driving back from Los Angeles through Las Vegas to get back to Boise, and while in traffic I was snooping around in the glove box, and guess what I found... not only the original window sticker, which was way cool, but the purchase order from 1995, and a brochure for the Pathfinder from 1995 with the dealers card stapled to it. How cool is that!!! This Pathfinder has all the options I want, PW, PDL, Air, Cruise, CD, 5 speed, Sport suspension that still actually works, you can feel it stiffen up when in the sport mode, even the sport suspension light works. I averaged 19.7 mpg for the whole trip back(900 miles), cruise set at 85mph, with air on the whole time. Not to shabby for a 11yr old SUV. I am just amazed with the condition of this thing, and keep in mind that my 94 was a 1 owner with 70k miles, and it was not quite as nice as this one. I must have done something right to have Karma pay me back like this. I am going to wash off all the bug guts, and get a few pics for you guys. All I can say is WOW!
  16. I still have the factory LEGO wheels & tires, oh make that 2 sets?? Don't ask.
  17. So, I made a bonehead discision to trade in my 94 Pathfinder SE on a new Mercedes Benz C350. The dealer was all to excited to give me whatever I wanted for it on trade?? That should have been my first clue. So here I am happy with my new ride, and it is sweet ride, but then I was at the Barnes & Noble a few months later, and low and behold there is my old Pathfinder in the parking lot It looked soooo good that immediatly I took one look back at the Mercedes and wondered what the hell I had done. I mean the Pathfinder was a 2 owner vehicle with less that 80k original miles -thnkboutit- So immediatly I start going on EBAY & Cars.com looking for another Pathfinder to cure my "FIX", and what do I find... a 1995 Pathfinder SE-V6 with a 5 speed, and LSD! Could this really be true?? Not only was it true but it was a one owner, Southern California, 60k miles, carfax certified, piece of art. The thing looks like it came right off the showroom floor!! I fly to Los Angeles tommorrow to pick it up and drive it home. I am sooo pumped right now, and my wife is now convinced that I am a freak of nature when it comes to Pathfinders.... Damn right. I think I will start a new version of addictions anonymous, it will be called PFA or Pathfinders Anonymous! I will get some pics as soon as I get back. Now I have to figure out a new sign on since this one is red, not green. Any help would be greatly appriciated. :help:
  18. OK, so even I can't agree with that!
  19. Thumpin Pathy, I am going to have to call BS as well. I thought that my 05 was a fluke, so I called one of my really good friends who has a 05 SE Off road Pathfinder, and we took his out to the same spot... same problem. Even when you turn off the VDC, it is still there. It allows you more movement and flexability (read tire spining) but still jumps in to cut power. And when you are trying to climb a muddy/snowy hill, cutting power is the last thing you want! I am curious about the new Frontier/Xterra though, they have the same 4 wheel drive system, but they have the locking rear differential. So I wonder if they will have the same problem that is affecting the new Pathfinders? Either way it needs to be fixed or I will have to go to a different manufacturer when I want a new ride to go off road. Come on Nissan fix this problem. I don't really want to get a new EXPENSIVE 4Runner!!??, but that is how bad this electronic VDC, traction control, brake applied limited slip is pissing me off.
  20. I have a 05 SE 4x4, and I love it..... but I HATE the electronic brake applied limited slip differential. It is a joke. I was wheeling out in the hills here in Boise, some light mud nothing serious and the Pathfinder was pretty much useless. It cuts so much power, and doesn't let you spin a tire that it renders the Pathy useless. I know that electronic aids are supposed to increase vehicle safety and performance, but DAMN... it makes this peticular vehicle useless. Just to make sure I wasn't giving the 05 a hard time, I took it out again when it was dry, and same thing. When climbing hills, the LSD cuts all the power, and yes I tried to turn it off, and its not fully defeatable, so even when its turned off it still interupts forward motion. So now I use my 95 SE-V6 Pathfinder to play in the hills and the 05 now has 22" wheels, and is used to show off "On-road" not off.
  21. There is a very reputable dealer in Boise where I live that has a 1989 Nissan Pathfinder SE-V6 for sale. It has 208,000 miles, white with blue interior, and fairly clean. It came from the eastern US so it has a little rust on the bumpers (no big deal) and some rust above the rear quarter panel drivers side. I have never had a two door. Question is... are the 2 doors as rust prone as the 93-95's, and what problem areas should I be looking for. Other that the above stated, its looks very well taken care of, the interior looks like it just came off the assembly line. Oh ya they were asking $3995 out the door, I was able to talk them down to $2300. Should I bite???? Please help, this would be the 3rd addition to the family of Pathfinders. Thanks
  22. What an idiot... I left him a not so nice message as well. STUPID people piss me off! :furious:
  23. I can always remember the first time I fell in love with a Pathfinder. I was stuck to my doors in muddy water in my 88 Nissan truck (2 wheel drive). A good friend of mines dad had a 89 Pathfinder SE 2 door, so she ran home and got it to try to pull mine out. No one, I mean no one thought that we would be able to get it out, but there in the middle of this huge mud pit, I walked out to knee high mud/water, strapped up the tow hook to the front, and away we went. This is the part I will never forget, sitting behind the wheel of my truck the Pathfinder started pulling me out, slowly at first, it just kept pulling. The coolest thing that I had never seen before was when the Pathfinder started pulling sideways, back and forth and when it did this I could see all four wheels spinning at different intervals.... it was the neatest thing EVER. From that point I was hooked. Then I met my high school sweetheart my senior year, and her very first vehicle was a brand spankin new 1995 Pathfinder XE 4x4. At first I think that I dated her just for the Pathfinder!! sly Since that time I have owned several Pathfinders, as of now I believe I am at 8 total since getting my license. But now I have found my PERFECT Pathfinders, a 94 SE, and a 05 SE. So thats my story, there has to be more out there, so come on share a little!
