  1. woooo hoooooo glad to have you back, thank you for the great site and all your help, even when you've been gone.... it's great to hear that you're doin' well!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Hello everyone - I'm in Marina del Rey (just south of Venice in LA)....I'm here for the beach.....mountains......girls.....traffic........ -thnkboutit- I've been wheelin out in Joshua tree, Big Bear, Santa monica mts, and some in south OC......
  3. That's sweet, looks good.... For all those that want one, you would still need to weld the mounts to the axle.........
  4. Mountain Biking -bounce- Snowboarding Playing Music (guitar/bass) Photography (film) Fixing Things  Beer - microbrews and pbr Wine - red Surfing - waves, not the internet :X Women....... ....i mean -argue-
  5. yea, i looked at mine this weekend and either has to go in front of the AC condensor or between the rad and the fan.....mine won't go in between because its sealed and the hoses won't make it through.... I wonder which is best for cooling? 1) in front of the AC it gets more air while moving, but less fan when standing 2) inbetween the fan and rad it gets more fan and less air.... hmmmm ?????
  6. Let me know where you end up putting the tranny cooler. I'm about to install mine on my 95, I was thinking of going between the condenser and the radiator. You said = The diagram shows one hose going to the radiator and another going to the tranny. --- the new cooler won't be cooled by coolant form the radiator, it just bypasses it altogether and is cooled by air, but the old hoses(that get bypassed) are coming in and out of the bottem of the radiator.... Also, where is the tranny drain plug? I was thinking of having jiffylube flush mine....
  7. you didn't forget anything, you probably just didn't noticed that the screw-mounts had cracked (poor design, really). In the pics you can see the part (removed from the cover) and you can see that the T shaped piece is missing one side. the other mount is missing both pieces of the T. The other pic shows the cover with the mount removed from its hole. If you could find two of these that'll be great, but if not, I've seen 'em on eBay or i can probably scrounge 'em.
  8. sorry you think they look 'gay' Sammy I'm about 99% sure that the truck came with those (and the brush gaurd I had) from the Nissan dealership. I'm the thrid owner, but the guy who sold it to me said the truck had come with them...... They are obviously not Nissan parts, but I've seen others down here with the exact same gaurds.......Hopefully they work out for ya, so it ends up a fair trade...... Off topic.....does anyone have any of the sunroof cover mounts for the sunroof cover i just got in trade for some brush gaurds.......- the ones that screw into the glass mounts

  10. Nissan 4X4's are sweet....I've experienced my 95 Pathy and my buddies 97 P/U and his 2006 Titan with an off-road package and all three have rocked it... Another friend has an 84 Land Cruiser, which is also unstopable... FJ is Toyota's code for the Land Cruiser....like our WD21...all cruisers are fj's... The FJ40 was the first one (the jeepish lookin one) and they go up from there...My buddies 84 is an FJ60 (looks like a huge pathy kinda), i think they are FJ120 now and they have the little new one that's just called and FJ - (not a Land Cruiser though?)

  13. Sorry about the crash man, at least you're OK..... I've also got an '02 3.2TL. They're really nice, good to drive, reliable, but a little more $$$ on the upkeep. I love mine-highlly recommended.
  14. edmunds.com says that they had a payload of 1150lbs. when new. These always seem like conservative #'s though. We had about 1350 in my buddy's '97 4cyl Nissan P/U the other day, she did just fine.... Performance Base Number of Cylinders: 6 Base Engine Size: 3 liters Base Engine Type: V6 Horsepower: 153 hp Max Horsepower: 4800 rpm Torque: 180 ft-lbs. Max Torque: 4000 rpm Maximum Payload: 1150 lbs. Maximum Towing Capacity: 3500 lbs. Drive Type: 4WD
  15. Hey all, I have been trying to find one of the older links on the tranny cooler upgrade. I seem to remember there being one with a how to section, pics, and recommended coolers to buy. Does anyone know where this is? Seems like it should be in the pinned Tech section..... I'm gunna go get drunk and celebrate my 1/4 Irishness.....
  16. The gas gauge works, its just not very accurate. Would the voltage regulator make it more accurate or would it just fix a broken gauge? Thanks 88.
  17. I ran out of F'N gas this morning I normally just use my trip odometer as a gauge because the light seems kinda unreliable. The problem with the odometer is trying to gauge it when you have a heavy foot. Anyway, I normally need gas at about 325-345 miles. This morning I died at 319 (guess i was lead footin it this week ) with NO gas light at all, WTF. Who else has this prblem? Is there a quick fix on the gas light? Guess its not really a big deal, I'll just get gas at 300..... PS. to the makers of those crappy little gas station bought red gas cans - F-U - learn how to make a product that works. everytime i've ever used on of those POS things it spills gas everywhere....
  18. hey fithly, isn't that what i just said... besides, the measurement don't have enough varation to cause it to make noise when it's not under load. It just needs lube most likely. Alabama, do you live in the south.....if so, I take it you use the rack for cycling (kayaking maybe). What do you ride.... -bounce-
  19. if there is no load on the rack then it shouldn't be making much noise. I would try to tighten the main bolts (in the towers) and whatever accessories you have - like headpeace says....... then I would do a little lube test run....spay some lube (tri-flow if you have it, if not WD-40) on any area where two parts come together, even ones that don't move. If this does work, then you can be anal and take the rack apart, clean it, lube it, put it back together..... If not its obviously something else.....FYI my 95 with only 85,000 miles has noises comin from all over... Oh by the way alabama...GOOOOOOO DAWGS
  20. uh, yea, I did that. The guy at Al and Ed's looked at the old speaker and told me that a few years ago, speakers with that shape became obsolete (good ones anyway, I'm sure you can get crap ones that fit). Maybe thats why your 2000's fit.?. I took my speakers out, showed them to the guy, then took new speakers and tried to fit them in the hole.
  21. Yep, Grumpy is right. The right tools = easy job. Lack of tools = heavy cursing or paying someone to do it..... I prefer to do it myself, but just moved to cali and all my tools are in atlanta.... :X
