  1. I actually said the XJ has solid axles becaues I figured that would put an end to the XJ standby, but it didnt. The article you quoted says that full sizers are not minivans, and where else do you ever see a pathy mentioned. This is becoming another one of those threads that I should stop looking at before it makes me any dumber.
  2. Hey finally, and no the WD isnt a car, its a truck, if it was unibody and had IFS then I would call it a car. And, if I hear the old XJ and H1 standby again im going to vomit...
  3. To bad im talking about Renault. To the Ridgeline is a minivan, guess what, its based off the Odessy!! :o The taco and Fronty have frames!!! :o
  4. I can swap a 3.3 in my WD with no problem at all. Jeep XJ's have solid axles, not a car type R&P and struts. My truck weighed 5600 with a fully loaded former sail boat trailer full of a cut down tree, last time I checked my truck wasnt entered in a Baja race (which a pathy won in like 95). Ive said it before and ill say it again, im sure the r50 wouldve been much different if it was a product of Nissan. Sorry, didnt know we were getting aggresive. In that case... well, it doesnt really matter because anything I say will now be considered R50 bashing, all well.
  5. Well, personally, I look to buy a truck when buying a truck.
  6. All ten more HP, and thats what I look for in a truck
  7. Yeah Ive seen it too, theres one where it turns in front of a car and crashes and another where it just drives bye and then another where its the focus of attention. I bet the one that crashed will never drive straight again though.
  8. Thanks for clearing all that up Camo!! And unccpathfinder, something like this isnt direct bolt it, as you know, id figure it would be just buy the kit and use what you think you can and make it work the way you want it to, taking most of the guess work out of it.
  9. Ive been following this on AC, which you would probably get a much better response on N4W because as soon as a mod sees it on AC its going to come down. Anyway, on to my questions and comments... 1) Id rather not have the stock Nissan knuckles etc., becuase you wouldnt be able to run Hi-steer. Not to mention the more custom stuff you have the more spares ya gotta carry. 2) Coil overs are spendy, you may look into to just coils and regular shocks, much like an Early Bronco. 3) In the pics of the HB there is no driveshaft, most people that run a radius arm set up have made a custom transmission crossmember that is notched to provide driveshaft clearence. 4) The radius arms are mounted to the stock torsion bar cross member, cleary the arms are much longer than the typical EB set up, again, most radius arm set ups ive seen have another custom crossmember for those too. 5) Hats off to you guys for trying to do this, it looks very nice but the aforementioned comments and questions were just things I wanted to clear up for personal knowledge.
  10. Oh man, that cracks me up, I thought for a second something would come out of this thread, I dont even know what to say, im just getting dumber by participating in this thread.
  11. Wow, I was hopeing that would come up that would come up, that statement just reminds me as to why I hang out at AC and N4W more and more now-a-days. Let me just put it this way, IFS has nothing to do being off road, NOTHING, these CORR and Baja trucks have IFS, CUSTOM IFS. Waits for the Humvee to brought up...
  12. IFS flex (sorry for the big pic) SA flex (I cant find his front pics right now)
  13. Even though you may clear a rock with IFS, you still are going to hit it with the rear axle.
  14. I know. wd21's dont have IRS.
  15. It does when you put bigger tires on it.
  16. Haha, you make me laugh.... The reason you dont see Nissan bashin on a Jeep site is because the smug is so thick they dont even know what a Nissan is, which is the reason of this thread. (My South Park watchers will know what smug is) Eh, cuzz im nice heres what smug means... Courtesy of Urbandictionary.com
  17. Its up too you, IFS has superior on road and solid is better off road. Ill be going to solid soon.
  18. I hear you can get more power by putting in a VG30 cam, regrind that and have alot more.
  19. Yeah thats what I do, thats also what I explained. The reason I gave all that garble about taking everything apart is because I dont know Superson's mechanical ability. By doing what you said, it may require some muscle that some people arent comfortable with doing, the new bushings are tight and it may seem like he did something wrong when he puts it back together, like when he goes to bolt the rod to the lower control arm, the bolts may not line up. Superson, if you go that route then you should support the hub/rotor assembly from underneath, the way the lower control arm is attached to the frame (on the front mount) wont allow it to move front to back, but will allow it to move up and down. Id still make sure the torsion bar has no tension on it just in case, depending on how much they are torqued already just jacking the truck up may untorque them, of course the tension on the torsion bars may help hold the hub assembly up will you work and make it easy to put it back together. Although, I doubt the you will have to mess with the torsion bars. Youre on the right track, jack the truck up first and support it with jackstands, take the tire off, make sure the torison bar is nuetral, then go about what you said.
  20. In case you missed in the poho, heres some mounting ideas... Or at least have it has an option, like somebody said, not everybody has their fenders cut right there. I think that 3/16 would be good for the area between the mounts, and then 1/8 for the 'wings'. LOL, That was one of the first things that came off my truck. Oh, Casey, I hope you dont think that we're bashing it. I like it as is.
  21. The L&P steering elimanates the stock steering problem. What happens is, the ball joint on the center link allows it to move forward and backwards, so when you put stress on a tire it pushs the center link backwards, now the tie rod as nowhere to go so it bends into a pretzel. The L&P totaly stops that, and its cheaper and has a warranty. Now I dont run their steering, probably never will unless I get another Nissan, because as of now, my truck is getting SAS'd. Also, you can watch what I mean, go up to your tire, grab it at the 2 and 10 o' clock postion and try to turn it back and forth, as you do watch the center link, you will see it move up and down. Read their website about it, they use bearings that can support 40,000 pounds. Also, I freakin love the car, im jealous.
  22. I like, is it mod'd for a BL? Some clear shots will help too, and some unmounted shots and some shots of the mounts, if you dont mind, lol. I made some mods in paint, what do you think of them? Here I was thinking about shortening it, although I dont know what it looks like in real life, ive always wanted a small but protective bumper, and i know its hard to do it with all that space between the bottom of the grille and bottom of the truck. Here I was thinking about adding that wing that you see, my fenders are cut right there and I think that it would add some protection from a side hit.
