  1. this is why i love this forum. ill look into those two issues. I'm sure it isn't low coolant(that was the problem in my accord a couple days ago) but COULD be crappy fuel. this poor idle is only at start or 20min of warming up. and right now around here its about -25C or -13F so i don't think the cold helps at alll. *apologies to the OP for the off topic posts* ill continue this issue, (if i dont figure it out) in another thread.
  2. just the thread i was looking for. every year my pathfinder has its temp gauge right in the middle of C & H. this year its always below it. like i could drive it for 2+ hours and it still wont go too the middle. I'm guessing its the T-stat as well. my heating never is as hot as it used to be. you think the T-stat is causing irratic idling and black umm gunk coming out of the exhaust?? yeah i dunno
  3. Hey evvry body! been awhile but now I need help again haha. anyway since I got my 92 pathfinder its been a huge pain in the a$$ too get her into Reverse. I have been told that this is first signs of tranny destruction. so now its getting worse I find. I gotta do the D to R to D to R to get her to "click" into R. now I am having issues were ill give it gas and it feels like the transmission is slipping. as well its doing some weird stuff at stop lights... like reving higher and then going down then trying to lurch my path forward! thats pretty much the just of what is wrong with it. so my question is would a transmission flush help these problems?! like were they circulate trans fluid through it? or is there no hope left in this baby and i need to replace it? IF i have to replace it I found a parts car at pick ur part from a 1995 pathfinder (which should still work right? as long as its 4x4) and the pathfinder only has 200,000KM on it. I know I would be taking a chance on the reliability but it would only cost me 100$ to buy it. Also if anyone can point me to a write up or anything on how to remove the transmission that would be great! TY in advance
  4. o man thanks for getting my dream bike! if I come to vegas will you let me ride it
  5. ya check your headlight switch. my uncle had relatively the same problem.
  6. IMO I think alpine or pioneer is a good choice thats what my friends have. I have JVC and I can pretty much say I hate it. its a touch screen and looks really nice but i get "connection errors" all the time and it likes to freeze up in cold weather. It does however have a motorized face plate that I love. due to the fact that you can angle it. in the pathfinder its rather low so angling the faceplate up is perfect. as for your 6x9's what kind of speakers are you running in the front? I always believe the front soundstage should be the top priority. (but mabey you have good ones in the front already). its been said before but try and not skimp on $$ for speakers. my last speakers where kenwood. and they sounded horrible. my new ones that I spent a little more are JBL and they sound GREAT. I love how my stereo system sounds now. I would also agree with extreme90 about the infinity speakers. both those kind of speakers I find don't produce the lower bass as well but they have great mids and highs, which they where designed for. and a sub with them and you will be very happy.
  7. just find some JGC springs. I used em and they work great. mind you it raised the back up higher. but i like that angled look.
  8. heh. all summer I left my pathfinder unlocked. some nights i even left it with all the windows rolled down not on purpose though haha. I think anyones key will work to unlock my car. buddy I went to school with randomly stuck his key in my door and it unlocked it (he has a sunfire) same with my other friends key and he has a ford ranger. sigh.
  9. wow UGLY. is it just me or does it not look mean at all. it looks like it has the front of a car. BOOOO wd21 all the way.
  10. hmm a peice of U beam hey? not a bad idea. stock roof rack does look a lil flimsy. good thing i dont have a moon roof
  11. if i go with something nice for the front is the stock roof rack still practical place to mount em? I can see from your pathfinder 88 that you have them back there. work good?
  12. hey everyone, I'm going to be getting some nice O/R lights to go on the roof of the pathy pretty soon. my first question is if I end up going with like cheapo ones am I really going to notice a difference from like lets say PIAA or KC's? I'm not on a tight budget but would it be more practical to get cheaper ones? In case I hit them and such. and another note do people mount them on the stock roof rack? if so can I see some pictures of how they look. and my main concern there is being kinda far back does the roof of the pathfinder cut off the light in anyway? thanks
  13. hey mr.jim! welcome back! I don't think there is really much else to say because everyone else has already said it . can't wait to see how the new site turns out!
  14. i wish i had good ones. i hate my stock cowl vents. all they do is let lots of snow in when i have the fan on so the inside looks like the outside (covered in snow) I think its time to do what 88 did. dunno where to get mesh though ;p
  15. hmm. thanks ya ill prolly get a cap dunno if i can find a quest alt anywhere around here thoough. the amps more like 1200watts we'll see how she holds
  16. ok so im trying to find an amp for my sub and i might have one but i need to know how many watts i can hmm "safely" pull off. im going to do the big 3 before i install the amp but im just wondering. I know it wont be able to handle the 2000-3000watts i need to run my sub mabey 1000watts? thx
  17. heh I did that when my bumper was off. i really didnt like the rapid blinking it made though. plus you cant see them blink at all in the day time. thats just my 2 cents.
  18. SWEEET. k this looks fun. im gunna start doin up some banners.
  19. LOL!. i was looking for this thread for a sec to.. I was certain it was in the general forums haha. now its pinned nice! good thing to.
  20. same here. not much improvement.. thats why im going to do the whole rewiring the headlights thing. should boost the lights.
  21. well I replaced my bulds...awile ago lol..but all I did was twist and pull. there should be plenty of room. good luck.
  22. HMM well. ive been on the alberta and BC side of the rockies.and I liked the BC side better...mabey cuz I travel to jasper every spring break and just chill out at jasper park lodge.. haha ya whats in edmonton? haha. i mean nothing spectacular really. like mikemike said go to west ed do some shopping...is it still the biggest mall? i was there this morning and it never feels big. your "loop" sounds good man. i love driving through the mountains!
  23. hello all! well the leaves have started to fall here...yay... and I feel I wanna make some changes to the pathfinder before it gets all not so nice outside. one of the things I want to do is paint some of my trip panels and well I want to make sure I get the process right. what sort of things do I have to prep for the painting of plastic peices? step by step would be reallly nice as I want it to look good (not like the insides of my friends cars) so ya how do i do et? thanks in advance.
  24. happend to me twice. in the rain. iim not that heavy on the gas..but lets say you need to make it onto a road before umm traffic hits you making a left turn.. so you gotta accelerate and turn..thats when it happened to me
