  1. There is a speed sensor wire that goes into the ECU if you have an automatic, but I don't recall seeing one in my 5-speed harness. I know the ECUs operate fine (with a manual transmission) without the speed sensor, so I'm not sure whether they have one or not. What are you wanting to put a speed signal IN to your GPS for? Shouldn't the GPS be telling YOU the speed?
  2. Why are you worried about a 900rpm idle? I didn't have any issues with mine and it idled about there. You can also adjust your idle air control valve, and the throttle body itself.
  3. Did you get them from Tynans? They are good about giving me a wholesale price on stuff if you ask. Just print out the same part from Courtesy and ask if they'll match.
  4. http://www.courtesyparts.com/betasite/path..._4800_4804.html Those bolts are $3 apiece from the dealer...not horrible but not cheap. The bolts I bought that hold the flywheel to the engine were $8.XX apiece and I needed 8 of them.
  5. Nice!!! Can't wait to see this stuff. What engine swap kits are you coming out with?
  6. Many of the coil-overs on the market come with bigger shafts than our struts use. Coil-overs can be had with 7/8" and 1" shafts, however I'm not sure if the struts are built differently internally to cope with the side loading. If I was planning on keeping IFS for much longer I'd look into it more, but I'm hoping to have it out of here as soon as I can.
  7. I hate to be the one that says it, but looking at the setup, it doesn't look THAT difficult to do. You need a strong coil-over (the one in the pictures looks like a Sway-a-way), and the mounts from any Pathfinder strut can be welded on. The bottom of the shaft is threaded just like our struts so the strut mount can still go on. Hmm.....
  8. Dean whose Pathfinder is that? I've NEVER seen that one before.
  9. It is definitely something to check out whether the chain is "made" to stretch or not. On the VH series engines, the timing chains are NOT supposed to stretch and are made to last the life of the vehicle. On the other hand, the oil pump chain is literally half the size of the timing chains, and it is MADE to stretch and expected to be replaced in regular intervals. I can't answer how the VQ is set up.
  10. The rear gears 4.9s will swap right in, but the front 4.9s WILL NOT. The lowest you can gear (numerically higher) on an R50 R200 is the 4.636s.
  11. Wow...did you know that every 4wd LE came with an LSD? I didn't.
  12. For that much money, buy a Warn M8000. You can find them new for $450-500 US.

It fits extremely well but I do have an additional 4" subframe drop and I'm pretty confident the oil pan wouldn't clear the subframe and differential without that. The biggest difference is the sump on the oil pan is in the front instead of the rear like on the VGs. I did have to cut out my stock steering though since the oil filter would sit right where my steering box was attached to the unibody. It should be done soon. Transmission + adapter is shipping back to me right now and I hope to have my wiring issues solved soon.

    Engines

The VH is a big engine, but it does fit regardless of what people say. I don't think it's any (if much) taller than the VG33. There's not going to be any hood clearance issues. It actually makes about 330hp/tq. Story is that the ratings are lower because it was rated without the VTC to avoid some additional "high HP" taxes.
  15. Glad to hear you finally got them. Put one flat washer under the bolt head. The split lock washer will sit in between the other flat washer and the nut. I've gotten some questions about installing these from a few people so I might try and write up a few things tonight.
  16. Which Weapon-R intake do you want? I have the tube from their "Secret Weapon" intake I'd sell you cheap. It's the nicer of the two.
  17. Did you ever try flipping your OMEs over? For some reason the 96-99 and 99.5+ shock mounts are identical, just reversed.
  18. 5 of the 7 boxes of spacers have been shipped. I had a problem with one of them going to Canada through UPS (Royal PITA!!!) and need to run it by the post office. One of you guys who didn't order hardware actually got a set...I'm not sure myself who it was though. We'll just consider it a raffle as a thanks to everyone for waiting patiently. I came up one set short in the end and figured it's packed up in one of the boxes. I'm hoping to get everyone their tracking numbers tomorrow and probably send out invoices at the same time.
  19. That is sweet! Looks like it was supposed to come that way. Nice to see people doing custom stuff to R50s every once and awhile.
  20. These things are ready to ship. I got the hardware I ordered, but the 3/8" lock washers somehow got left out. I picked those up this morning and we're ready to roll. These will be going out Monday and everyone can expect UPS tracking numbers as well as invoices (if you owe money). Thanks so much to everyone for being patient. This project has gone about as unsmoothly as possibly!
  21. If you need any injectors I've got 6 good ones! The plenum isn't the easiest to take off while it's in the vehicle.
  22. Actually ACE's fault for not having it, and now the internet's fault for taking so long to get them here!
  23. If the hardware will ever arrive I can get these thing shipped out!
  24. Things to realize.... You're never going to be able to keep people from trying to break in aside from some extreme measures. The main goal would be to keep them from getting away with your vehicle once they get in. Don't leave things that are worth money in the Pathfinder...there's no way to secure them. Glass is easily broken if someone wants something. There is nothing better than a hidden kill switch. Hide it somewhere that wouldn't be obvious to someone else trying to start your car. When you lock it up for the night, flip the switch. This still doesn't prevent your vehicle from being put on a flat-bed (nothing does short of chaining it to the ground) but it should deter theives long enough to move on to an easier vehicle. 12voltguy.com has some really nice stuff.
