Don't have a scanner! If I get my hands on one, where is the scanner port? -
I got holes in my floor board too... I would recommend finding a pathfinder like yours (same year, 2door/4door) and cut the floor out of where you need it and then weld it in... As long as their is no rust on that "new" piece then you should be good to go... Then spray with some paint for protection If you do this make sure you cut atleast 1" larger around the rust to prevent having to do the same process again....

So the story goes that about 3-4 weeks ago my pathy quit on me. I moved it around in my backyard closer to the house (running) then about 2-3hours later I went to go move it back cause I was done with my work on it for the day... She would not start. Checked plugs, wires, connections, injectors... Nothing wouldn't start. So she sat in the same spot (long enough to kill the grass under it...2 weeks) while I worked on her her and there when I had time cause of school and work. Rebuilt the throttle body, dropped and drained gas tank, new fuel pump, flushed gas system, new plugs and wires tomorrow (olds plugs and wires had 2,750 miles on them so they should of worked).... And nothing... I even shot a little starting fluid into the TB before I did the throttle body work (would crank then) and after the rebuild... Not even a kick.... Could it be timing belts? Coil pack is good cause I grounded the plugs and saw a nice spark... Everything else is fine.... I just don't want to end up like unccpathfinder with bent valves.... Please help... I don't wanna end up having to junk the car cause I can't affor a motor swap or a new pathfinder.... Any and all help is welcome... And if it involves saving money then tell me... Already got connections at napa, advance, and autozone...

URGENT HELP -> Mixture Heater
Nytrosfinder replied to Nytrosfinder's topic in 86.5-89 WD21 Pathfinders
Is there a chance I could just leave the grid pieces in there and just unplug it.... Cause If I sell it then I don't want the next owner to have a problem and come back to me about it... -
I am gonna rebuild my throttle body tonight and my mixture heater is bad... (I think) I know the black should come off but what about the breakage inside... Will this affect whether i should get a new one before I put the throttle body back on or not?

The thing is that I am also fairly new to the welding world. Only had my hands on practicing welding about 6-7 times... I got a friend who has his welding certification who is gonna teach me and guide me while i do my body floor panels. And no I am not gonna jump right to welding my floor pan, got some scraps to practice on first.... The other thing is I don't wanna end up spending $1k on a welder that I wont be great on to start with... remember you gotta start simple first...

I heard you can put an egg in your radiator and it will seal it.... dont know if thats true or not... I say get a new radiator or whatever leaks...
-
we got one of those from harbor freight for $87 cause of this huge sale they had the other day.... returned it cause like you said mig is better....
-
Well I need something that will work... i dont wanna have to pull my stove out to have to access the 220v outlet and get yelled at by mom... scary... very scary thing....
-
You got a picture of your ride... I would like to see that rack on yours...

Ok so its time that I get thinking about getting my rocker panel fixed and my floor pan. Gonna need a welder so my dad and I are splitting the costs of one. I am wondering what would be a good welder to start with that works off regular house voltage,110V, can weld frames, sheet metal, and other things(1/16"-1/4"). I know from a friend that a MIG is one of the easiest to learn on and they are good for sheet metal and body work. He recommended that I definably go with a Lincoln welder that does at least 200 amps. I just need to know which welder for a fair price would be a good buy... Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated... (and if they sell it at a store that I could go get it at that would be great as well!)

It allows for a better airflow - you know how on a dirt road that hasnt been smoothed up... cant go so fast on it, where as on a paved road you can fly- same principle, smoother way for air to move directly to the engine... and its also basically a cleaning too... restoring it to brand new is the goal, as well as removing all the gas build up, dirt and grime build up thats gotten past the air filter....

Ok now that I have read it all... and no....keep Chevy out of Nissan! Another possible idea as to how to get some power that i was thinking about was just getting a universal Intercooler kit from like amazon.com. You can find all the parts to build a kit on amazon for pretty cheap and they generally give you a few horses just by cooling the air.... I dont know what all needs to be done to make it work but it seems like a worthy cause if they are proven to give you like 15-25(max) more horses... If no one ever tries it, I would like to be able to say I did it....

I dont know if anyone has mentioned this, and i dont know if it really works or not... but its interesting to think if it works... Its the E-ram electric supercharger.... http://www.electricsupercharger.com/

Thats what happened when i returned it( yes i ordered the right one, made sure of that when i handed the money over) and it turned out to be wrong. The guy there was odd though.... he started questioning me as to why i had to return it.... as in "was i able to afford it?" <-dumb question....would i have gotten it if i wasnt? lol
-
I know that.... A few posts up Kingman asks me about what parts i was thinking of.... so i replied....
-
Do they include the mounting hardware for the stock roof rack? Cause I am getting interested.... And how big can I go?
-
So get this I get my throttle body rebuild kit from Napa auto parts, and none of the parts in there will fit with my throttle body! I am so mad about it... I spent $23 bucks on a kit that i got nothing out of it.... (and no i cant return it cause its opened). Makes me so mad...... So i gotta spend 3x as much at the dealer to order new gaskets....
-
can you do a video of that one? I am gonna do thrush exhaust when i get my throttle body rebuilt....
