  1. Whats the LSV? How would air get in there in the first place? Any way of checking the brakes via stopping distance? The pedal is not realy soft its just when I depress it it will go slowly to the floor but it does take effort.
  2. MAybe someone can help me out here. I have a 97 LE 4x4. I noticed that when I am at a stand still I can depress the brake pedal all the way to the floor. I dont know if thats normal. Also I noticed that if I go about 30-50 miles and slam on the brakes the truck comes to a stop but the tires never lock. Not even a little bit. I know I have ABS but I always thought they would lock a little and make that weird noise. I cant recal if its always been like that. I beeded the system completly today and same thing. My ABS or breake light are not on. Any ides? Is this normal? I replaced the front bake pads about 4000 miles ago and adjusted the rear. HELP!!!! :gossip:
  3. mmmm, good point. Im going to have to re open everything up again. Fromwhat I remember it was just a basic antenna wire but instead of the standart antenna connection, it had to prongs. I have to see if the stock antenna wire splits or somthing. Thanx. Anyone know what is a reception booster and how it works?
  4. No engine noise. I do get Dr. Laura and Rush but I cant get to hear am 980 which is the news. . The oem radio had a 2 prong antenna connection, I got an adapter but thats all I know. I do have some type of windshield antenna but I dont know if Im using it or not. How do I tell?
  5. I can veryfy that I have a 97 LE 4x4 and I opened up the black box and found no filter. Only what I think is called the condenser (looks like a radiator). I used compressed air and a vacuum to clean it out but thats all I could do.
  6. I installed a Kenwood deck a while ago. Ever since, my AM reception is really bad. It used to be better with the stock radio and in my wife's Honda AM comes in fine, even under overpasses. Only certain stations though. Anyone have any ideas? I have a 97 pathy. I bought an adapter for the antenna and FM works fine.
  7. Finally got some flares from Ebay. They look awsome. makes the pathy look 5 years younger
  8. I just ran a wire through the main wire harness boot. Had it for a while no problem.
  9. I actually spliced into my power wire for my amps and placed the 1000w inverter next to all the amps on the back of the back seat. so far no problems and it seems to power just about anything.
  10. There were no pics but the part numbers matched here is the link to the EBay auction http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...TRK%3AMEWA%3AIT

  13. YEah the tools are great, Ive changed the spark plugs twice, while the tools were easy to use I found that using a ratchet, and two extensions worked fine as well.
  14. Just did my plugs and wires, The tools in the truck worked perfectly. Took me 5min on each even the dreaded #6 Im in cali and I wanted to get the NGK wire set. I almost ordered from sparkplugs.com cause they are in cali but I ordered from http://www.autopartsfair.com cause they were $5 cheaper plus free shipping and no tax (they were in NC). I got them the next day!!!! Came right from california too Lucked out
  15. a simple rum and coke or Wiskey and coke works for me
  16. Hi, Those of you who have done the cold air mod in the front bumper leading to the air box. Have you guys experienced a horse power gain? better fuel efficiency?, Problems? I did the mod a few months ago and I'm not sure if its made a difference. Also for those of you who live where it snows, are there any problems with this mod? I live in Southern Cali but might be moving to Denver next year and I'm wondering if I should go back to the stock set up. Any advise would be appreciated
  17. Dank where do you get the iridiums? Got a part number? any good prices you've seen ? nevermind I got these BKR5EIX-11 for 6.95 a piece. hope thats good Jason
  18. is it hard to replace the starter? How bad is it? Tried the battery wires that wasnt it.
  19. OK, so I went to Office Depot, came out and my 97 Pathy would not start. I heard the relays click when I turned the key (not the starter solonoid) but nothing!!!! I tried several times. Battery is new and was fine. Didnt have the stereo blasting or anything to weaken the battery. It wasnt like the battery was low and the solonoid clicked or anything just the relays from the fuse box clicked/ I shifted gears (automatic) and still nothing. I called AAA and they came, the guy told me to turn the ignition and woala!!!! it starts!!! WTH!@!!! any ideas? I have not been able to recreate the problem the whole day. anyone have any ideas? Im pretty mechanialy experienced and I can tell you its not the battery. It scares me, Ive always had a manual transmission and could always push start my vehicle but this one is an automatic. Any help is appriciated thanx Jason
  20. tHANKS FOR THE INFO, FEEL SAFER NOW
  21. I have a 97 Pathy. I was looking at the rear seatbelts as I was installing my infant seat and Im wondering if they are backwards. I noticed when I lift up the rear pass side seat the buckle marched (center) is towards the outside of the vehicvke and the one for the pass side is towards the center. Should they not be the other way around? Same with the other side. Also seems that the center seatbelt seems to twist unaturally when it buckes. It comes out of the attached bolt and has to turn on itself so that the clasp fits into the bucke with the belt strait over the infant seat or a person. Any input on this? Thanks in advance Jason
  22. In my old Trans Am I bought a remote switch. I installed it to an ignition kill and kept the car keys separate from the house keys. I carried the estra remote with the house keys that way in case of a car jacking I could kill the car with the remote. It also works as a kill switch.
  23. With the wheels Im running (18" 255/55 18) I run 35lbs. Funny with the Original wheels (15/235/75) on my LE the speedo was off and with the current wheels according to my GPS the MPH are right on. I think the overall dia is 29" still getting 14.5 average MPG street or highway
  24. I don't have the part numbers anymore but I just called pepboys and they gave them to me. The Gabriel's same think but at Auto zone. They are really fine. I don't do much off roading either. The truck had about 120000 miles on it. I figured it was due. The shocks didn't make much of a difference but then I got back from a cross country trip with the family and realized my truck was running real low with the weight. It also bottomed out in the rear from speed bumps (with no extra weight). I replaced the coils with OMEs and that made a huge difference. I personally don't see a big advantage on different brands of shocks, all they do is stabilize the bouncing. Just a cylinder filed with oil and some valves. If anyone could enlighten me that would be great. But its been like 5000 miles and I see no problem with the shocks or coils. They are also guaranteed for life so thats always a plus. good luck Jason
  25. I just went to the local Autozone and got some Monroe's for the front and some Gabriel's (all they had in stock). They are nice. I have a 97 Pathy 4x4. Dont go offroading much at all. I did also replace the coils with some OMEs though. Make sure your coils are still good. Check one of these posts for the ride height. Mine was way low and I didn't even know it. Jason
