Hey all I just bought a roof basket for my 97 pathy. It attaches to the stock luggage rails. Fits fine and looks good but I was wondering if anyone has any idea on how to mount it directly to the rails or fabricate a mounting system that supports more weight. The factory rails on the pathy look like they are made from plastic. Im afraid to overloaded and have them break. Any ideas? I thought about replicating the factory luggage cross bars with some steal ones but wouldnt even know where to start.

check the dealer, I broke mine and it cost me like $20 from nissan. I usually call and say im from joes auto and ask for the price, I tell them I will send me guy to pick it up and I get 20% off. If they ask for a resale # tel them the boss isnt here or its for an employee nd you will pay the tax, you still get 20% off

what code are you getting?
-
Thanks for all the suggestions guys. LewisNC100 thanks for the part numbers, I say your post on a different web site as well, guess you have helped others with this before. I ordered the parts form everythingnissan.com for about $160 total with shipping. It was the chapest of all the sites. I hopew this takes care of the problem. Jason

I looked up the newer parts and they were about $30 cheaper. The valve was more expensive but the canister was about $60. Total came out about $30 cheaper. Is it worth it? Does it make a diffrence or are there any modifications that must be made if I use the newer part? I found them at everythingnissan.com

Yeah I read that checked the first 5 items from the service manual for this code, first 5 items were fine then I tried to see if it would be fine but the light came on again. There were a lot of Granules though so I figure it must be the canister clogging something up

Where did you get the parts so cheap? I called the dealer, gave them the vin and they gave me a part #14950-1s717 , they want $155 for it and $128 for the control valve. Where can I find it for $ 60? should I also replace the control valve? I looked at the other set of part numbers from the dealer and the canister is $95 but the Valve is $128 any help or leads would be appriciated. thanks

oops correction I meant code 1447 evap on first threat

Im wondering though, if I blow out everything and just remove the charcoal from the canister, wil that take care of the check engine light? I dont want to spend $160 on the canister.
-
Hi all. I had a check engine light. I have a code 1447 evap I know I searched the previous posts here and they gave me a good idea of the problem. What Im wondering is what do you guys think I need to replace. From what I deducted you most likely have to replace the charcoal canister (I have little pellets all over the hoses). If I just take out all the loose charcoal or actually remove the charcoal thats left do you guys thing it will stop the light from coming on? That is after I blow all the lines. Also the light comes on, I have a code reader so I reset the ecu and the light wond come o again for another day or two, any reason why? Thanks for any help

Noise from front drivers side wheel well
merlinx replied to merlinx's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
XPLORx4, Thanks for the clear directions. Before I read your post I decided to take it to a local shop. They charged me $180 OTD for an Axle replacement and a wheel alignment with a one year warantee. I didnt know what I would get my self into so I decided to play it safe. Thanks for the info though. Hopefully they can determine where the squeek is coming from -

Thanks, I just looked underneath and found a broken axle boot. Are those hard to replace? The squeeking was there before though I know that for sure. Where is or which is the " control arm bushings" and "the strut bearings" ? -

Bushings? Are you talking about where the shocks connect to the frame and the A arm? -

Where exactly are the bushings? And which bushings? -
Hi all, I have a 97 Pathy. The SE 4x4. I have noticed that there is a noise coming from the drivers side front suspension. Every time I go over bumps it squeeks . Its been like that for a while. Its hard to simulate buy pulling up and down on the truck. Any ideas? I sprayed a burch of WD 40 over the coil and nothing. Still the same thing. Anyone have this experience before? Thanks in advance. :help: Jason

Well today everything seemed fine. Took the pathy out at about 50, hit the brakes and tje brakes mometeraly locked (as they do with ABS). Guys tell me if this is normal. At a light or standing still you push on the brake pedal. With a little effort the pedal bottoms out. Is that normal? I drove my friends blazer and it did the same thing.
-
Whats the LSV? How would air get in there in the first place? Any way of checking the brakes via stopping distance? The pedal is not realy soft its just when I depress it it will go slowly to the floor but it does take effort.
-
MAybe someone can help me out here. I have a 97 LE 4x4. I noticed that when I am at a stand still I can depress the brake pedal all the way to the floor. I dont know if thats normal. Also I noticed that if I go about 30-50 miles and slam on the brakes the truck comes to a stop but the tires never lock. Not even a little bit. I know I have ABS but I always thought they would lock a little and make that weird noise. I cant recal if its always been like that. I beeded the system completly today and same thing. My ABS or breake light are not on. Any ides? Is this normal? I replaced the front bake pads about 4000 miles ago and adjusted the rear. HELP!!!! :gossip:

mmmm, good point. Im going to have to re open everything up again. Fromwhat I remember it was just a basic antenna wire but instead of the standart antenna connection, it had to prongs. I have to see if the stock antenna wire splits or somthing. Thanx. Anyone know what is a reception booster and how it works?
-
No engine noise. I do get Dr. Laura and Rush but I cant get to hear am 980 which is the news. . The oem radio had a 2 prong antenna connection, I got an adapter but thats all I know. I do have some type of windshield antenna but I dont know if Im using it or not. How do I tell?
