  1. I've done it with only having pillows, it wasn't the best, but your foam pad idea would make it way better!
  2. They should definitely have dropped the name. I can understand why they wanted a vehicle like it, but it is not a pathfinder.
  3. How do you get time to do this?! Its awesome, keep it up.
  4. Looks awesome to me. Plus with the rope you can fold it up so its not super bulky like a huge expensive one!
  5. Well you can get an Xterra with a solid rear axles and a locker, and I think the really new ones have the fancy buttons to help you drive up or down hills, so yes you could say that is better for offroad. If you're more concerned about the towing option, the newer pathfinders have a v8 option... so pick what you want for you what you want it to do.
  6. Yeah they get stiffer in sport. My front ones had been replaced but my back ones still work and there is still a noticable difference.
  7. oh yeah, i forgot to say we replaced the radiator cap 2 or 3 times too.
  8. Thankfully this isn't my pathfinder, but our 2003 xterra is being really weird. The coolant will not go from the resevoir back into the radiator like it is supposed to when we shut it off. We look at it in the morning and the resevoir is over full and the radiator is about two and half water bottles worth low. We had the fan clutch replaced on a recomendation from a mechanic but the problem is persisting and the radiotor place we go to at home thought there was a leak but couldn't find any and couldn't figure out what is going on. Any ideas would be appreciated in hellping solve this!
  9. That sucks man. I hate when stuff like that happens. When i was at the midnight premier of Dark Knight acouple years ago some cops interupted to movie to say a few vehicles had been broken into. And living where i do and having people ask about our cars if they're for sale I'm surprised my pathy and hardbody haven't been broken into. Hope you can fix the window without to much pain.
  10. Yeah thats not really a problem in Arizona. At least not yet, monsoon season should be coming and winter was pretty "wet" so i hope it will rain more than the last couple years. If i do happen to play around with the do not cross when flooded areas i'll just take a look at them every once in a while.
  11. I then say leave the one thats on there now and then when it gets cooler switch it!
  12. Thanks, I got them on and locked em and the axle spun when i spun the tire so they work! My next question is what kind of grease should i put in them if any? I have some mag 1 multi purpose lithium grease.
  13. So Facebones was able to go back and get the internals for me, thanks again! Now where does the snap ring go when i put the manual ones on? Does it just go first then slide the hub stuff on? My repair manual just says make sure the lock pin is in possition, so im wondering if there's a specific position or you just slide it on?
  14. Is that just cause of the cooler problems? I see a lot of people here doing at to mt swaps when driving at is a lot simpler, and for a dd if you're in a city a lot more comfortable...
  15. I love that "fix" you did for it! redneck engineering is amazing! I just glued a little peice of really hard cardboard to my door to press my door dinger button thing in more so the thing wont go off when im driving down the road anymore!
  16. Yeah. to bad i didn't more about this stuff before, but thats one of the reasons i got the vehicle, to play with it and learn! Hopefully he can go get the other parts. thanks for the replys.
  17. So does that inside stuff come out. I actually bought them from someone here who pulled them so i can't go back and get anything...
  18. Ok so I got this set of manual hubs with 27 splines for the 89 but the splines are in a completely different spot than my auto hubs. Am i missing something? can i take stuff out of the auto one that will go into the manual one or something? auto (my camera is being a pain) Uploaded with ImageShack.us manual Uploaded with ImageShack.us as you can see the middle of the manual one is empty and the splines that are in it are bigger, they also move towards you as you turn it from free to lock and in lock you can push them down into a possition. Are these even the right hubs? They came off a hardbody.
  19. Mine goes nuts on me too. Can you just take the button out from the door jam and that one door just wont make it sound?
  20. some one on here said before they broke one of the cv axles and because they had manual hubs was able to just turn off that one and then gett out of the trail with three wheel drive... And what is a flange?
  21. What exactly did you get from the hardware store? 14 is a lot better than 65!!!
