  1. If I use my a/c for a long period or time and then make a sharp corner water seems to leak on the passenger siad floor and this noise that sounds like snd accompanies it i was wondering if any of y'all knwo that that can be and how to fix it thanks.
  2. I think the sealant was a bad idealb/c the day after word my car stalled and would not start. i figured my pump had failel well i had taken it out and put it back in and it started back up. Thus i was wondering if by sealing the pump to that tank if i was creating a vacum in the tank making it hard for the gas to flow. if so how do i make so that gas won't get out and ait can get in?
  3. Today i got sick of the smell and decided to go and buy a new tank. But on the way i decide to shine a flashlight under the wheel well for some clues. I saw a puddle on top of the tank. so i looked for the fuel pump access panel and took it off the top of the fuel pug was rusted to all hell. i flicked one of the inlet where the hose clamps too and it sprung a leak. needless to say i found the problem. so i went to the junk yard and bout a fuel pump and assemly for $100 ( i think i was taken) and replaced it. after i drove around and did some tight corners to make sure the seal was tight when i looked again there was a little gas the was kinda sneaking out nothing major but i was concerned. then went and go some new screw and bolted them in and did the same thing. same result i then mad another trip and came back and not a trace of gass. I was wonder it maybe have just of evaporated or if i tighted it some more. The question is, is there some kind of sealant i can put on between the pump and tank to prevent this minute leak

After being forced to drive with my windows up to avoid the dreadfull clickity clack and tick tick noise i finally said f*&k it and got a side angle drill and a tapping kit and began to drill the broken stud. I said if i mess up the block then it's time for a new car. well the first bit broke in less than two seconds. but i gotta bigger bit and began. What mechanics estimated to take 8hrs took me 4hours without the proper tools @ $0/hrs labor and $175 for parts. now it drives a lot quieter and better.
  5. hey i got that nasty smell, as a matter of fact the pathy is not allowed in the garage anymore cause of the smell. I also get the sludge and gasoline mixture on or around my the passenger side of the tank. it also drips and leaves puddles and stains on the floor. Is it the filler or the actual tank any help!!!!!!!!
  6. well it wasn't that bad but i only got half the studs out. I figure if it aint broken don't break it. I could get the one stude out B/C THERE IS NO DANM ROOM!!!! However I put the new gaskets on and the sound went away for now. I was thiking about double gasketing it but decided against it. thanks for all the help. next it's the alternator
  7. After reading all the posts i made damn sure. The parts guy made sure i bought the good ones plus.
  8. So to make a long story short i had a manifold leak. I went to tighten the bolt with my hand and the stud came with it. I was able to get All 6 manifold bolts, studs, 3 pipe bolts and gaskets for the righthand side with free next day shipping from a dealership for under $40. I love working for a large rental car company. Anyways I am goin to attempt doin them myself. I am banking that all the studs will break so i've searched the site and know to soak the bolts in wd-40 overnight and tap the studs with a hammer. So far all i have is PARTS, TIME, TOOLS, AND AMBITION. :help: My question is what little nick nacks or tricks or advice do you all have for me? be it tools, products, techniques, anything you can think of even if it is minor that will make this as much as a breeze as changing oil (or changing oil in any car that is not a pathy!!) :bow: thanks -alcohol-

YEAH I JUST GOT NEW SHOCKS MONROE SENSA TRACKS I THINK AND MY CAR IS STILL MUSHY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS (75MPH 80MPH) IF THERE IS A DIP OR A BUMP MY PATHY PANCAKES AND I HAVE TO HIT THE BRAKES AND HOLD THE STEERING TIGHT. COULD THIS BE THE SPRINGS? OR SOMTHING I COULD FIX OR AM I JUST DRIVING TO FAST?

The rental car company i work with uses firstone for their "lofr's" lube oil filter and rotations. and they don't mess with the rental vehicles but from talking to them perosanly i wouldn't take my car there. to put it softly they have "quota's" what ever the hell that means right That is why i take it to either myslef or a known mechanic. The trick is to take it to a place that only does oil changes and doesn't wan't to touch the rest of the engine. cause they don't have anything to gain by messing with your rig. ie. jiffy lube(only if you watch them) and wal mart(same deal) places like monro, midas, firstones i dono.
  11. well i was just looking at the wiring diagram in my haynes manual (which i don't think is too acurate) and it seems that the fuses that i've been blowing may be connect to the adjustable shock absorbers, which were replaced this summer and i doubt the wires were ever tied up or taped or cut. I'll try to check this out but i have no access to a garage anytime soon so we'll see. if that is not the proble i have an idea of where it could be i've got some wires that come off the batter that finde them selves close to the engine every now and again i can double check that. thanks for the info deej
  12. CURRENTLY THE 4X4 LIGHT HAS NOT FLASHED ON SINCE I FOOLED AROUND WITH THE GROUND WIRE, THE GAS LIGHT STILL STAYS ON REGARDLESS OF HOW MUCH GAS IS IN THE TANK. AND TODAY I BLEW MY TURN SIGNAL FUSE :help: -thnkboutit- . I'M ABOUT TO BLOW A FUSE. THE ONLY THING I CAN FIGURE IS THAT IT HAS TO DO WITH THE IGNIITION RELAY B/C THAT IS WHAT THE METER AND THE TURN SIGNAL FUSES ARE CONECTED TO. I'M THINKING ABOUT CHANGING THE RELAY AND SEEING WHAT THE DOES. I'M KNOW THOMAS EDISON BUT MAYBE THE RELAY IS WARN OR SHORTED. WE'LL SEE ANY THOUGHTS COMMENTS ARE WELCOME THANKS
  13. I second that!!! those switches should light up but they don't but with my luck they woudl just end up being one more electrical problem for me to worry about.
  14. So the other day the gas light come on. I had about a 1/4 of a tank of gas according to my gas guage that never has worked all that well. I went out and wiggle the ground cable to the battery and so far the 4X4 light has stayed off but now the damn gas nlight stays on i give up I'm gonna put some gas in it tommarow and see what it does but man oh man this is dumb :confused:
  15. so it happend again in christmas eve traffic, the "meter" fuse blew again does anyone know what this could be or where i should check. It seems to happen when i down shift on my automatic trans. and ideals would be greatly accepted b/c this is a pita -thnkboutit-
  16. hey i dono if you ever got your pathy started but the same thing happend to me whne i cleaned my throttle body out. turns out i had throttle body fluid in the pistons and it wouldn't compress i unplugge my #6 cylinder and turned the key all the gunk came out and the engine turned over. my pathy is a 1992 so i dono if the engine is set up the same but it is slightly angled so that the fluid must have flown to the rear cylinder.
  17. well i took off the fog lights and recut and taped the wires and the 4wd light didn't flash as much. then i went in and had an oil change and they changed the battery and poof it stopped, well for the ride home anyways. we'll see how it does. the one other thing i noticed is that both before and after my new batery my votage meter reads about 14volts is that okay or should i kick around the battery for a while. we'll see if i blow any more fuses.
  18. so it happend again today i was goin dow an icy hill and i was down shifting and then my heater, all my gauges (but the back light stayed on) and everything on my instrument cluster went out i put it in park again and couldn't get it out. I found out that i replaced the "METER" fuse not the enging control. i had a lot of stuff running like the read defrost the wipers 4WD the lights the heater and more i dono if i overloaded it or what i jsut don't want to keep on changing 10v fuses

  20. So a couple of months ago (maybe august) my 4WD light kept flashing on and off and on and off. So I wiggled the shifter and it really didn’t' do too much. After a little while, it seemed to stay on for a long time and I just dismissed it. Then on thanksgiving, I had pulled over to let a Subaru by who was coming down a hill sideways. When I went to put the car back into drive it wouldn't let me so I turned off the car (or it was already off) and when I tried to start it nothing I didn't freak because it always does that so I did it again nothing. I figured out that the car didn't recognize the tranny was in park. Well to make a long story short after tearing about my center counsel I found that my engine control fuse was blown. I replaced it good as new! And the 4WD light stopped flashing for a day or so then is started back up again. Then just last night I got to turn on my car and this horrible electric buzz comes on and when I rolled up the window, everything dims. I let the car warm up and drive it goes away. However, it did not do this morning when I started it up. Also I used to always blow the horn fuse which I don’t' use that much. I do have a phone charger and a radar detector in the lighter outlet if that makes (which I have unplugged now) a difference. Thanks
  21. $250 for the front end? what does that include (grille, brumper corner lights etc). but that terrano looks hot, with the two tone and the rocker panel covers. i'd love to trick mine out like that. by the way if your goin for the euro look they have the euro rearveiw mirrors, the third one that mounts on the hood for blind spots, on ebay.
  22. $650 dollars well spent. belt had many tears in it and water pump was leaking, and thermostat was sticking. I think it was 650 because i watched them do it. but i am glad i did not do it. but the pathy seems to drive better, or maybe it's just my subconscience of spending $650
  23. so i found a good place to get an o2 sensor. but i just wanted to know where it is to replace it and what tools i need i know it's an easy job and if i am correct i beleive it's the wires coming out of the engine by the oil filter however i am not sure so if some one can tell me where the darned things is and wwhat size tool i need that would be great thanks again
  24. 5 hours 8 hours I think this is a project i should have someone else do. cause i don't want to get halfway out and have to go find a part, or a tool, or worse comes to worse not relize what the hell i am doing. lol so i'll call today and schedule the appointment.
