So, with the first snow today, I got to see the performance of the lokka in snow. So far, in a couple of inches of fresh powder, I was pretty impressed with how the vehicle handles. Turning at low speeds wasn't too difficult, and the lokka would actually unlock and allow differential action at low speeds, maintaining a tight turn radius. I suspect that Ice will not be very fun with the lokka, but this setup is probably as good or better than typical 4WD in general snowy road conditions. The vehicle self centered super easily, was way less squirrely than in 2WD, and had lots of traction. See the video below for more. I wasn't super fond of how the LSD behaved, especially when in RWD only. Pretty squirrely driving, and not that great in the snow. Definitely enough traction to get around, but the rear end swings out pretty easily.

This is great.....my question is which one of the three is the donor?!?!? They all look fairly nice & complete to me! There’s a QX-4 that’s been sitting on the side of the interstate up here for seemingly 2-3 weeks at least. Maybe@onespiritbrain and I need to do something similar, lol! With the typical western Washington weather, you expect any container that is not sealed and exposed to the sun to eventually fill up with water, so it is with head lights that have been hit by pebbles where that tiny hole inhales and exhales during a solar cycle and condensate turns your headlight into a half full fish bowl. With water in both headlights, I decided to order the bottom feeder head light assemblies off eBay, they looked useful, so I installed them and then noticed the adjusters were frozen! I removed them and noticed the quality of plastic was nowhere near the OEM effort, and the threaded screws were seized in the threaded holes, and one adjuster screw was short when it should have been long for that corner. The retaining clips on the head light itself were junk, but the main assembly looked useful, so I used a small screwdriver to push the detent over and remove the OEM adjusters and transfer them over. I did the same with the OEM clips, and I think I might be OK. I'm so happy that I discount my own labor because I would have otherwise paid double? The box said Eagle Eyes brand and made in Taiwan, but I'm not sure you can believe anything anymore, as these may be counterifts of an honest effort from Taiwan?

Gold Plated the ram cylinders for the rear latch because I’m nuts lol. Still saving for a engine rebuild, new manual transmission, until then I will be searching for any metal I haven’t coated in some manner. Haha fair enough. Most of my driving on snow is done in AUTO but I’ll throw it in 2WD for kicks every now and then

Eh, I could do without it. I wasn’t enjoying trying to explain it to my non-gear head passengers. It makes the conditions look worse than they are, and I’ll be sticking to 4WD moving forward.
