  1. Update: for now I’m going to go with the all around 2 inch lift from SF creations. The reasons for this is because I’m in high school still, and don’t the budget for anything else, and I want to get the lift before my first winter. I plan to get the lift by next week and put it in maybe a week or two after that. By next summer I hope to get the springs, struts and everything else! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  2. I have a high pinion 44 out of a 77 if your interested. Free to good home. I don't know how it would get to you. Edit: I have lots of info on 44 but nothing on 60, so I can't help.

  4. Not a lot has been done lately to it. Just been enjoying it, taking it on trails and getting used to how much it can handle till I find its its limits (further than I had thought). I have added 4 new lifts out on separate dip switches. Got the lights for 30$ (halogens) they came off a tow truck. Wanted LEDs but I hate the idea of the diodes going out and having to replace the entire thing rather than just buy a new light so after searching around I went with these tow truck lights that let me get direct LED replacements. Currently I'm running 4 floods, 2 65w and 2 35w (what came with the deal, brand new lights). They work great but I cant wait to go with 2 floods and 2 spots. Chose 2 switches for the future of 4 spots and 2 floods with the spots mounted on the roof of the truck, more or less room for expansion. One dip switch I bought was faulty and autozone decided they wont replace it so looking for seperate switches all together (these dip switches are too bulky in design), also added led indicators for when the lights are on as an idiot light while driving g so you know A, that they are working and B, they are on (35 waters get drown out by the 65w really quick, a reason I just noticed that the dipswitch on the 35w was faulty). Side note, FINALLY adjusted my head lights so they are straight, being lazy and just accepting poor quality light days are gone. Tried to pick up a dana 44 but was given away from under me so in the market again for one. Looking to SAS the rig in the near future (must payBill's, must pay bills). Once this wild fire is out if the mountain pass is still open I'm planning to take the rig on a hard trail that all the rock crawlers go on. Even in the non optional sections it is rated to be hard and advised for lockers and 35s. Time to throw the 33 swampers back under the ol girl and test out that lsd with some careful throttle. Looking forward to seeing how the old culture wagon performs on it.

  5. Yup, looks like the sway bar end link snapped off so it's not even connected to the sway bar anymore. Fix that and you won't be having this problem anymore! It's possible that you have another issue that's caused the sway bar end link to break, but I'd put my money on just a random occurrence.

  6. Locking hubs in the front have nothing to do with the diffs. They just allow you to save a little gas and some wear on the CV joints by disconnecting the front drivetrain entirely when you're not going to be needing 4x. Common mod for the R50s.

  7. I think the fluid in the pictures is just aerated, not emuslfied with water, especially compared to pictures of what comes out of SMOD trucks. I've read that overfilling can cause aerated fluid (like how the crankshaft will froth up the oil if you overfill your engine), which I'm sure would make the trans act funny. I remember having some trouble getting the fluid level correct in mine. That could explain the bubbles in this batch, but it doesn't explain why it was acting funny before. After watching the video, I can see why you were worried about the shimmer. I had another look at mine and while it does have a little shimmer to it when I stir it, it's nowhere near that metallic. I'd hazard a guess at aluminum given that it didn't stick to the magnet. Hopefully the metal in the oil was from normal wear and the TC didn't push into the trans hard enough to damage anything apart from the O-ring. Keep an eye on the fluid.

  9. Today the title arrived in the mail. It's nice to know that after all this work it is legally mine. In Texas, at least major cities, we have to get vehicles inspected (even trailers over 4k GVWR which is a freaking pain in the a$$) before we can register them. When I was doing the title work I asked the clerk how I am supposed to drive my vehicle to get the OBDII monitors to a ready state so I can pass inspection when it is not road legal? She said I would have to get insurance on the vehicle and get a 30 day temp tag without registration. So tomorrow I start paying for insurance and I hope to get a temp tag so I can legally drive the thing if I am lucky enough to get it road worthy this weekend. Getting closer, but it is going to be a BUSY weekend. I had to pull the passenger cat after having the exhaust completed because I installed the manifold to cat gasket incorrectly. I wish junkyards could be more sneaky with the paint markings. All that's left under the hood is: -Intake manifold upper sections -computer harness from dash -belts -throttle and cruise cables -connect vacuum hoses -A/C idler -install battery -drain any existing oil and take a sample <- maybe I should have done this before installing the engine -cut open existing filter and examine <- maybe I should have done this before installing the engine -new oil and filter -pull plugs , vacuum cylinders, crank engine to build oil pressure -complete cooling system installation/radiator/fan -vacuum and charge A/C -fill all other fluids Installed new rack poly bushings. Shinny driveshafts new ujoints and balanced AND thanks my favorite junkyard for writing, in paint on the front face of the rims I purchased I have to figure out how to get that paint off without damaging the machined wheel surface. The bag of goodies...like I said, busy weekend. Oh, and I know all 8 of those rear link bolts are seized and are going to require cutting out with an angle grinder Not pictured: wheel spacers (shipped today), rear brake shoes and hardware kit, plugs...and OH I forgot an air filter
