dvd7000
On most of the water pump / timing belt kits that I see for sale, there are 3 Camshaft and 1 crankshaft seals included. I see the 2 camshaft gears with the timing marks on the left and right hand side of the engine, so 2 of the seals would go behind those gears. Where does the 3rd camshaft seal go? I have a 1994 SE Pathfinder V6 4WD VG30E engine. Edited May 9, 2016 by dvd7000
Slartibartfast
Maybe the third one goes in your spares bin? Might be a typo, I know I only found two camshaft seals in mine.
Cuong Nguyen
Weird . Only used two. Might be an error as mentioned. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
bherscher
IIRC the kit I got had '3' camshaft seals in it. After installing, I realized the third seal went to something else, which of course I can't remember what that was right now! I discovered this the hard way of course as the third seal was in fact slightly different from the two camshaft seals. Had to buy some more seals. Hope you don't. adamzan
I think it is an error on the manufacturers part. There is only two cams and one crankshaft seal. My kit only came with two.
k9sar
maybe the third is to use when you screw-up the first trying to seat it before learning how to do it on the second
adamzan
That would have been nice to have lol
Kingman
It's not all that uncommon to find an extra or two in seal kits. Sometimes it comes in handy when you accidentally screw one up.
