  1. Hey guys I want to put a voltmeter and oil gauge on the 94... Where is a good sending unit spot for the oil? Also I want to put a oil relocation kit on, but I want one that works with the pacesetter headers... It's a 5 speed if it makes a diff on kit/ location
  2. No I backed into one leaving my house, I was avoiding the wife's car and over compensated
  3. Also if you are sliding around tapping on your brake can work to lock it up too... And also I know now I seriously need to reinstall the axle bump stops
  4. Yeah a great Monday luckily 4x4 is just a shift away
  5. Idk I guess the po had ground issues cause he ran that blue wire from the maf to a ground. The shield wire was just chilling bit hooked up
  6. That bare wire is a shield ground. Stopped the morning miss
  7. Oh no, gates timing kit and hoses. new water pump all bought from the local Oreilly
  8. Well after several runs down the street and long idles in the driveway ( rather have something happen at home) I drove the dog crap out of it today gave it no mercy... Figured rather have it brake today when I'm off then Monday morning otw to work... Driving like a champ!
  9. The slight miss was seemingly caused by what I call a shield wire not connected to the maf ground wire I can take a pic and maybe get it posted ?
  10. Hey guys I have had a slight erratic miss until the engine temp gets normal since I have owned it . Any ideas? I've just got through doing the timing belt and hoses etc. Do I have a ghost problem?
  11. Timing belt: check Water pump:check A million vacuum, water, and fuel hoses check... My wonderful pathy is back in the game hell yeah!!thanks to all the people who have contributed on this forum that has spread their knowledge
  12. Ok so I am content with my little 3.0, but if it ever goes out I want to install a chevy 6 cyl. I know people have done it but I am looking for some in depth knowledge. I have a 94 5 speed manual 4x4...
  13. Yeah I changed it all ( bypass hose was a pita)... Everything I've put into that beast and it is still only retail about $800; but heck it's brand new practically and I can kick just about any jeeps behind that doesn't have thousands dumped into it
  14. So I am halfway with my little " tune up" and after last weeks little Incedent I decided to be proactive... Change the timing belt. To my surprise it had been changed at least once in 200k miles but the tensioner was original... It was about to crater by the sound of the bearing. Anyways now to replace the 400 vacuum lines under the intake and also the valve cover gaskets... Yay me
  15. Hey guys the manual says to loosen the rocker arms when changing timing belt, is this necessary ? Also anyone know the thread pitch and size for the timing cover ? I had the typical bottom one missing... Also who ever did the belt before didn't align it properly... The line that had FR was lined on the driver side, which I guess is the right when looking at motor. Also I cannot find my crank alignment spot on the block... Any ideas
  16. IT'S ALIVE HAHAHA!!! The dist. Rotor set screw backed out... Therefore causing random fires that sounds like when timing is messed up. Yay for not having to rip half a motor apart
  17. Thanks guys, and checking my earlier post, I was a little vague. It straight up died on the road and when I turned it over after coasting to a safer location, (hoping it was a freak incident that magically went away) it sounds like my v8 when the timing is 180 degrees out.., in other words you can here the spark plug firing through the exhaust... But after checking the many helpful forums here I will check my dist. Rotor for movement when cranking. If it moves then I will move on to other stuff thank y'all very much
  18. Ok so I was driving along and it sputtered and died, when I tried restarting it I can hear it firing through the exhaust. Was on my way to work so I haven't had a chance to check dis. For rotation. If it isn't that by some miracle of God any other areas to start ?
  19. it worked, but i went from the original 235 tires to 31's, and wanted a true speedometer reading. when i put the new one in it wouldn't work. i have pulled it out and hand spun it. it registered on the dial..been working a lot so i haven't been able to pull it again to check dimensions
  20. yeah i got the part number from alkhorail. he didnt mention any spacer... previous pinion was fine. i will check the sizes though sounds like a good start
  21. Put new pinion gear on vss, and when I turn it by hand the needle works, but when driving it won't work?... What did I do wrong
  22. when i get it in i will do that, so others do not have to struggle.
  23. Does anyone know the name if the person with the 4.3 on theirs... I'd like to pick their brain
  24. Yeah I pm him he already got me the number lol I have it on order, and thank you for the spring info guys!
