I have been thinking..what adverse affects could there be from welding the front diff.?

 

I would think as long as it's never locked in on the road there should be no problems.

it will be hard to steer offroad with 4hi/lo engaged. also, the front diffs are not that strong to begin with, so welding it up will just add more strain. i've blown my front r&p without welding it.

yeah i wouldnt weld up the front for safety reasons (steering)

well, actually, if you had manual hubs, you could always get out and unluck the inside hub when turning. but i would be worried about your cv axles exploding if they got too much traction. especially at full lock.

Have you ever seen that on trails? It's frakin' hilarious. Poor bastard was so pissed off at getting out every 30 seconds.

My buddy uses hydro assist with great success on his welded up front end and he's got 37"s....
