The ticking may just be your exhaust, we can't tell from over here. Check the oil pressure sensor and make sure it's plugged in. It's right beside the oil filter, only thing screwed into the engine block next to it.

No, not necessarily...

 

Your sensor could be bad, you could need an oil pump, it could be wiring... The ticking could be a valve, manifold leak, etc... Don't drive it until you know you have oil pressure and then try to determine where the ticking is comming from.

This is true, but if it were unplugged and grounded out on the exhaust or something, it'd do that.

True... Mine comes undone all the time and it flickers like crazy when it touches stuff around.
