weird starting problem

Hey everyone great forum, alot of info. I had a question, my friend owns a 94 pathfinder 4 door auto, and he has this starting problem. He states when he drives all day and parks it and goes to start it again it wont start,and it just clicks, but when he gets a boost it starts. he changed the starter 3 times, i told him that maybe it can be a sensor, maybe the crank or cam angle sensor, from what i remember from a lumina i used to have, that the car wouldnt crank at all, so the mechanic replaced the crank angle sensor and it started. For some reason i feel very strongly that its a sensor which is causing this problem. But then again it could be the wiring to the starter which gets weak with the heat of the engine. Anyone have a wiring diagram, or a list of sensors from where the key is turned what is actually activated. Thanks

Had a 93 that did the exact same thing for about 2 months. Sometimes all it did was click but as soon as the jumper cables were hooked up it fired right up. I too thought it was the starter. One day it happened and there was no one to jump it so I bought a new battery, that was over 2 years ago, haven't had a starting problem since.

lol. yeah check the charge on the battery.. otherwise check the ECU sticky in the garage --> how-to for codes procedures.

I have had the same problem several times. It happens at school all the time. I take out my portable jump kit and hook up, starts right up. What I think it is is simply the + wire on the +terminal is loose. The battery is fine, but the wire must come loose a little bit sometimes.

Sounds like the problem is a bad battery, like the above posts say.
