Is there nuts on the back of those bolts or is it just the bolt. I was thinking about taking mine off. If you find those rubber plugs somewhere let us know.

The nuts on the inside are welded to little plates that fit tightly into the corner of the body. The top ones come out, but the bottom ones are inside the body where it's spot-welded together, so you can't get 'em out.

How about the handle release?

all in all there are 12 bolts all together and they all come off the same. with a socket and 5 minutes of your time. get help for the carrier else you may regret it. the weight distribution is uneven.. and when it comes down.. it comes down.
