turbopath
Ok, I'm trying to get the little needle bearing out of the end of the spindle/knuckle. The one that the CV shaft rides in. Since the spindle is so long I can't knock it out, so it looks like it has to be pulled. Any tips on getting this thing out?
sw
i had a think about this on a d21 the other day. didnt do it. however my conclusion was you would require a internal bearing puller and a bit of effort. sorry, not really anything constructive, just thought. i just gave up - cleaned it out with compressed air and a rag. then went nuts with grease and my fingers. pushed as much grease between and in the needle rollers as humanly possible. turbopath
ya, I tried to pack a ton of grease in there. It still sounds like I just took a drive through some sand dunes though. haha.
sw
maybe not those needle roller bearings then. have you checked the two main wheel bearings? clean and re-grease?

Ya, I replaced everything including the spindle. Problem is...the junkyard spindle has a bad needle bearing.

I have the same problem with trying to figure out how to pull this bearing out. Anyone else accomplish this? -Kevin
