Pinstripe removal

Yo navygz19, I still got 2 used wheels. If you only have the sport stripes (2 skinny lines) the wheels have enough meat to get the job done. PM me a mailing address and I mail them to you free.

I have no stripes on any cars so really have no use for them any more.

Use a heat gun or hair dryer to heat the decal and peel it off while hot. Then use WD-40 to clean up the sticky. Then clean and wax the surface.

couldnt this be bad for the paint moreso the heat gun than the hair dryer...esp if u held it in 1 place too long

If you do use a soft rubber/polyurethane pinstripe removal wheel to remove the pinstripes, do NOT go fast with it. It will burn the pinstripe and adhesive and melt it into your clearcoat. Use the slowest setting on your drill or air tool and apply steady pressure.

Ask me how I found that one out.

Why would you recommend a procedure that you had problems with? My way has no adverse results on the paint...such as burnt clear coat.

why would you hit your finger with a hammer? Use the tool properly as it was designed and it won't cause damage or pain.

don't get mad I'm the biggest hypocrite on NPORA. I use one out of 20 tools properly. WAVEY

Good luck with the pinstripe. It's obvious that some members feel that anyone with only a few posts on here is an idiot. It's sad that some members will crack the whip as if their ideas are the only good ones, and brush off the newbie's ideas. I don't care how you fix your truck, but when someone offers up an idea to fix a situation that they had problems with themselves and someone else offers an idea that is easy, quick and did not damage their vehicle, I think I would chose the latter. Just me. :aok:
