findmypath
Hi everyone, Recently I was wondering what exactly comes with the BOSE stereo option. Is it just the amplified sound....is it a different deck...or is the speaker quality different. If anyone knows what the BOSE stereo really comes with please respond. navygz19
Recently I was wondering what exactly comes with the BOSE stereo option. An annoying 6-Disc Changer that never wants to work and "BOSE" written over the tape deck cover The total wattage output is also higher than a non-Bose system (amplified) though the numbers I forget. I read them somewhere online once before. The Deck itself is not much different from standard Nissan sock. In my old car I sold (2002 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec-V) it came w/ the 300-watt Rockford Fosgate system in it already. The deck itself was no different looking from a stock one. The only difference was the "Rockford-Fosgate" logo...and $900.00 for the "audio fanatic" option Edited March 13, 2006 by navygz19

Trainman
Not having heard the "stock" speakers, I can not say. The sound is fine to me, just wish the 6 CD player was a better product. And I think I have 6 speakers, one in each door, and 1 small one on each A pillar.
navygz19
And I think I have 6 speakers, one in each door, and 1 small one on each A pillar. You are correct. I wish Nissan had thrown in a small subwoofer somewhere in the back. My Sentra had one in the trunk (that came w/ the system) It wasn't loud or abnoxious, it just added a little more depth to the music.
2001pathfinderLE
200 watts total 2 tweeters on a pillars 4 speakers (one in each door) individually amplified also something marked bose in the trunk behind panel on left side look in vent youll see a thing marked BOSE not sure what it is. steering wheel controls 6 disc..mine works flawlessly so far. info from my 2001 r50 yes it sounds better than the stocker... the bose system is actually tuned by bose engineers for the vehicle then mass reproduced. Trainman
also something marked bose in the trunk behind panel on left side look in vent youll see a thing marked BOSE not sure what it is. I believe that is the amp for the two rear speakers. May be wrong, have been before.
navygz19
I believe that is the amp for the two rear speakers. May be wrong, have been before. Yes indeed. The rears are dually amped and the fronts are individually amped (inside the front doors) I hate that RDS feature, at least, I wish I could turn it off if I wanted to. navygz19
Radio Data System. It display's the song title/artist on the screen as you listen to the radio. I don't think your '01 has it (if it did, you would know it did!) Only it can't be defeated and sometimes I wish it could be... 01Pathy3.5LE
The "BOSE" System in my 01 is actually a Clarion head unit. I know this because I had to pull it to fix the annoying 6 disc changer. If you have the 6 disc changer, MAKE SURE YOU PUSH A NUMBER ON THE CHANGER BEFORE YOU LOAD A DISC!!! My wife did not do this and Nissan was going to charge me $1,100 to replace it because a disc got stuck and the typical ERROR message displayed. I pulled the unit, pulled the disc out with tweezers and now everything works fine. Just be carefull.
Guest dssenglish
All headunits Bose uses are clarions. Nissan wanted them to put BOSE all over the headunits and not on the speaker grills for marketing reasons. Nissan got bose enigneers to design where speaker locations, and therefore every pathfinder benifits even if they don't have a bose system. However, Bose speakers and amplifiers are a big improvement.
Pezzy
But is the quality of the speakers any different than the stock speakers?? I have the plain ol stock stereo speakers, and theyre not too shabby. Not fantastic, and anyone who really enjoys their sound would likely swap them out -- but I have no problems with them. I have upgraded the deck, and really see no reason to buy new speakers.
