Recomended compression guage

Does any one have a compression tester guage that they recommend? I have been usin my room mate's, which is nice, but I can't get it tight enough to seal, and since the plug holes are so deep, it's nearly impossible to get a wrench in there to tighten it. What I am thinking is some sort of solid tube that could be tightened from the top, then the guage connected to that. Is there anything like this out there? Thanks for any advice and or recomendations.

Mine has a brass plug end fitting with an o-ring on the end of a hose, then the gauge goes on the other end. Screws into the plug hole, just twist the hose a bit to tension it up and it's done.

Mine is the same as his ^^^

MM is it possible that the one you are using is missing a rubber O-Ring to seal to the cylinder head when you twist it

Nope, the one I am using has the O-ring at the attachment point. I preload it like 88 said, but when I turn it over, I get a hiss of air getting past. Maybe I'll just go buy a different one and try that.
