Earth1
I'm getting ready to order headers and noticed that dougthorleyheaders.com says "No lift kit." I thought there were people running those with a lift? Is it a mistake on their site? It doesn't seem like a BL or SL would ineterfere. Have a look at the 90-95 V6, it says it again. thorley website
wheel366
I have the susp lift and no problems that I know of. When I get a chance, I'll get underneath and try to see if anything is close. If I remember, something with the trans was rather close, but didn't hit.
Mr. Pickles
I don't think a body or susp lift should make much of a difference. The motor is mounted to the transmission and frame, which are not disturbed when you lift the body off or lift the suspension.
88pathoffroad
It doesn't matter. I don't know why they say that.
Slick
i dunno why they say that either.. but if you are ordering thorleys... order them from summit instead of the actual thorley site.. save yourself $200 :contract:
Duffman
I wonder how many Thorley Header related posts have been made in the last week? 5? 100?
Filthy Luker
Perhaps in their experience some lifts involving drop brackets might interfere with their headers?
mws
My assumption why they say that: They designed the system to fit a stock Pathy. They have no control over how companies design lift kits, and it would be quite easy to design a lift kit that would make the headers no longer fit. So the "no lift kit" message really means: "We know it fits stock. But if it's been modified with a lift kit, we don't know if they will still fit. And we really don't want you yelling at us and bad mouthing us if it won't fit with the particular lift kit you installed".
Earth1
Cool, that's what I thought. I'll definately be ordering from Summit. Thanks.
ChrisR
On the summit racing site, what is the part number on those? i got this one DTE-464-2, and it says 94 to 95 but, it only says pickup, nothing about the pathfinder. This is likely to be a stupid question but are the pickup and pathfinder for those years the same? I just want to get tthe right one.
Earth1
ChirsR Same engine, those should work. No diference in 92-94. I only searched by engine not by year. Might wanna call and verify. Their customer support seems to be knowledgeable and friendly.
Slick
for my 92 pathy the p/n is: DTE 464-2.....

wheelmanLS1
rocky-road.com will price match to Summit and rocky-road.com is so much easier to deal with and correct me if I'm wrong, but Summit has a waiting list on Thorley headers, right? I've been away from the Pathfinder scene awhile so sorry for any outdated info.
mws
Summit doesn't stock the Thorleys themselves, they are drop shipped direct from Thorley. So your lead time depends on how much inventory Thorley has or has access to. You've found Summit difficult to deal with? What was your bad experience with Summit? (I've probably had 50 orders with them over the last few years, and all were very good experiences)
Cuong Nguyen
They have super fast shipping and well as top notch customer services! Also you get discounts and incentives everytime you purchase from them. As far as the "no lift kit" they're probably referring to the trailmaster lift perhaps? Earth1
OK! Headers showed up today! -bounce- Unexpectedly fast. They look great. Can't wait to get my new engine. I read somewhere that the Nissan gaskets were better than Thorley's. Have you Thorley peeps had any issue with their gaskets? 88pathoffroad
Yeah, apparently they suck. Lee from L&P recommends Fel-Pro gaskets.
