Lift kits and chrome rims

I currently have a black 1994 Pathfinder and love it. I have had it for a little over a year and it has served me very well. Now I am looking to upgrade it with a 3 inch lift and some chrome rims. What kind of lift would work the best with this kind of truck? I am looking at a Calmini lift and it looks very good. But before I buy anything, I would like to know what other companies offer lifts for this truck and what you all think. So, what is the best lift to go with ? Also, I would like to know where I can find chrome 5-spoke rims. any info would be appreciated. :D

you can find chrome 5-spoke rims at any local tire store, at summitracing.com, at tirerack.com, at 4wheelparts.com, and at any other place that sells wheels. =)

these ones are nice looking: http://www.americanracing.com/wheels/detai...lated&section=S

search as far as the suspension lift goes, you'll find more information there than anyone can just up and tell you here. the companies are pretty much AC and calmini, calmini being the nicer of the two, and also the more expensive. you need new rear springs, again calmini or AC, or JGC coils: http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=18

and then you'll crank your torsion bars: http://www.jimbennett.net/torsionadjustment.htm

and probably get some new UCAs to correct the now-wonky alignment. if you want you can then trim your fenders: http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=711

...perhaps get some manual hubs to replace your stock automatic ones: http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=1405

...or pretty much do any of the other very useful things in this thread: http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showforum=28

like he said there are reams of info and opinion on this topic on this board.

But I'll give you my .02 real quick

Stay away from automotive customizers (4x4parts.com) front upper control arms, the geometry is not very good on them, but I do like their rear coils very much, they are niuce and spongy for great axle articulation.

If I were to do my lift again I would use the front UCAs from superlift, with the rear coils from AC, rancho 5000s like I have now, and torsion bars I would source somewhere.

Keep in mind that if you do go with a lift and get over 31x10.5 tires you will need to consider steering upgrades.

enjoy your reading.

Thanks for the info! Sounds like I have a bit more research to do before I can make a decision and buy (and saving up a little bit more money :) ). Those rims are sweet looking. I think they would go with my car perfectly. With those rims however, what backspace measurment am I looking for? Anyway I am very excited to buy and install this stuff ( I love doing anything on my car). I will put pics up soon of what it looks like now and of course what it will look like after B).

Those rims in 15x8 size with a 6x5.5 bolt circle only has one backspacing option which is 3.75 and that will work just fine. That's actually about where you want to be anyways. It will poke out a little more than stock which is 4.5". I don't know specific measurements, but I can almost guarantee you won't want any backspacing less than 3 inches or it will stick out too much and look like a Mexican-mobile.

I just put on the full deluxe Calmini lift and I could not be happier. The difference in feel is just amazing. It comes with everything you need coils, UCA's , new torsion bars, and all the msic parts. The Ball joints look a little weak but they are certainly better than I had and I'll use em till the wear.

I also got the steering upgrade but have yet to put it on.

The lift was pretty easy to install myself with the help of a friend. Make sure you have a good jack and stands. The hardest two parts were removing the old bolts from the upper control arms. The rubber had basically fused to the bolt and we had to burn em out. New ones would alleviate that problem. The other problem has getting to the three bolts at the front of the torsion bar. Move the jack up and down and you will be surprised to see hoe each bolt is accessable depending on height and DO NOT remove the hardest bolt, there is no need to. If you loosen it you can get the torsion bar out.
