Putting on new tires!

I have decided to invest money into a new set of tires for my '95 XE.

 

I do not know where to even begin.

 

What do you guys reccomend?

What brands are good?

What size do I need?

What would I need to do as far as rims/wheels?

 

Just give me the low down.

 

Being as conservative as possible with expenses would also be a great help, thanks.

ok, what do you intend on doing with your truck? daily or offroader? ... is that better B?

Well I am going to use it as a daily driver since it is the only car that I own. But I defenitely want to be able to take it off-road whenever I want. Maybe every other weekend, no more than 3 times a month.

Get some decent AT's. Go with 31's. BFG AT's AT/KO's (also BFG) and Bridgestone Dueler AT/Revo's are all good all weather tires that will do you well off the beaten path.

yeah thats what i was going to say (what simon said) down here in the dirty south i would say get some BFG M/T's but i notice u live where it snows and so far i havent heard good things about these tires in the snow, if u are going to run 31x10.50 you shouldnt have a problem but for me i plan on a 3 inch suspension lift (sl) and maybe a 3 inch body lift (bl) and i may run 33x11.50 or 32x11.50 but that depends if i go with the 6 inch lift or 3 inch, if i do go with that i would have to change my 15x7 stock "lego" rims up to a 15x8 or 9, but i wouldnt run anything over 10.5 on a 7 inch rim

 

but anyways for u i would get some A/T's (all terrains, but they say T/A's on most tires, i dunno why) i have 30x9.50 BFG A/T's and i can say that ive put alot of miles on them and they are great, the only thing i dont like is there to small and they dont do well in mud and down here theres nothing but mud and sand and the last thing u want to get stuck in down here is mud since theres alot of rednecks (no offense) that come through and rut it out and throw glass and stuff in there

i feel the MTs are pretty awesome in the snow.. that's what i have and love'em.

MT's are good in deep snow......they're terrible, though, in slush, and on ice, unless they're well siped.

ahh, yeah my info came from somebody with a k10 and a 6 inch lift, but ill take your guys word for it
