Duffman
I have yet to use the AC in my pathy, for some reason AC gives me really bad migranes (in any car) and drys my eyes so bad I cant see. Would there be any benifit to removing the whole system? Would it be even worth the time? Me and my dad were looking at it and he siad the balance of the engine belts might rely on the pulling of the AC, but he hasent worked on a car since the late 70's. Precise1
Some people have removed theirs completely or just the belt without any ill effect. If you really want to be slick, convert the system over to an onboard air compressor. Search should give you the info... If you do this, depending on the year, I'd like to buy some parts from you. hardwaretoad
Hmmmm. Seems like it'd be easier just not to turn it on. Resale value (if you ever choose to sell it, that is) would certainly be higher with it still on there & functioning, rather than missing completely or piled in a cardboard box for the next owner to try & figure out... 88pathoffroad
I took the belt off my A/C compressor and took the idler pulley off a while ago. Didn't want to crack the lines open and dump R13 or whatever into the atmosphere, so I left the rest of it intact.
