Phantom- Random "just won't start problem"

 Okay so I have had my 95 SE V6 Pathfinder for about a month now. Often when it is hot and I have driven it a while; it just won't start. No turnover. Just a click. Like it is dead. Raidio works, windows work, fan works clock doesn't reset. If I roll the windows down and sit within an hour it will start. Here is the suggestions from several people.

Starter- It was taken back to the lot where I bought it and was told the starter was replaced. Still has th eprobelm.

Alarm- Had it disconnected- still has the problem

Neutral Safety Switch- I have tried shifting it from drive to neutral and starting it in neutral. Of the six or so times it has happened that only worked once. (the place that replaced the starter said it wasn't the Neutral Safety Switch

Selinoid- I was told that if you head a click it couldn't be the safety switch but probably the selinoid. TO try holding the inignition before releasing right away. That trick hasn't worked either.

Now even when it is hot it has been starting.

I have personal friends that are mechanics but in order to do the diagnostic test it needs to be not working. But If I tow it in, tow trucks take about an hour to arrive, it might start once it gets there. It always does eventually start.

I think that covers most of the things I have heard.

I am hoping to find others with this problem so I don't get stranded in the wrong place.

I am having a problem with squeaks at low speeds but I am refering to the post of the person with the same problem for that.

Any help is greatfully and respectfuly appreciated.

Thanks

It sounds like a bad earth somewhere. Tighten and check every black wire you find.

I've only had my Pathfinder a short time so I am still learning. But had a similar problem on an older car. It had electronic ignition module. IE an module that replaces the points in the distributor. Every time it would get hot it would start to run very badly and then wouldn't start until it cooled down for an hour or so. Not sure if the Pathy's are the same or not. Just throwing out some ideas.

Does it run like crap once it gets hot?

:o It seems to run fine even when hot. It is not like the temp. gauge goes up or anything. It just seems when it is hot outside and I have been driving awhile it just clicks but no start.

I live in San Diego, and it is especially hot right now. It hasn't happened in a week or so.

I will mention it to my mechanic. They just don't want to start randomly replacing things that might not be causing the problem. I usually visit them on the hot days affter I have been driving around in hopes it won't start when I get to leave. But it always does.

They like the doughnuts I bring. :)

Thanks~
