auto to manual hubs...

i noticed when i tried to put the snap ring and washer back in the washer's diameter was too big so it would engage the cam that is normaly engaged by the turning of the knob from free to locked...hince the hubs were always locked no matter what the hub was set to...

 

so i put the snap ring on and it worked fine...heres some pix of the diff situations...

 

opinions?

if the washer engages the hub ON then i'd probably leave it out.. but, there are folks on here that should be able to help you since they have done this conversion.

What brand?

 

I'm pretty sure you leave that washer off with the manuals. (Actually I don't remember ever seeing a washer in any of my setups; stock autos, Mile Markers, or Nissan Manuals).
