northgapathy
alright, let me give you guys a little background before i tell you my problem, i have a 93pathy 4x4, 3" uca's .5" ball joint spacers, cranked sway away torsion bars, and 4 inch lift coils for a 67 broncoe in the rear, and its ridding on 33x12.50 buckshot mudders, in other words this thing is BIG, the ball joint spacers, torsion bars, and coils were added this weekend, we took it to the alignment shop, and they said i need at least a 2 inch drop idler and pittman arm to straighten out the angles created with the lift, can i buy these, or does anyone have any suggestions, i know i can't be the only one w/ this problem , thanks -dan
vengeful
Currently, there are no drop pitman arms available for Nissans. However, there are reinforced and modified ones available through a few different vendors... L&P Performance has the least expensive steering solution, and it is wonderful. http://www.lpperformance.com Next would be Calmini - excellent quality, but very pricey: http://www.purenissan.com I don't recall if SLR has a steering system out for the D21s or not, but I do know they have great stuff for Xterras...worth a look: http://www.spencerlowracing.com Also, Automotive Customizers (AC) has a steering system: http://www.4x4parts.com That would be the order in which I would buy them, assuming they are all available at time of purchase. Also, Phil (of L&P) is very open to suggestions for new parts, and I'd be willing to bet he'd be willing to attempt a drop pitman at some point. However, they only currently offer Double Sheer Pitman and Idler arms for use with their upgraded Centerlink. (Which I would highly recommend purchasing since you've got so much lift on your truck, already.) Good luck.
88pathoffroad
Problem is, you're pushing the limits of IFS lift by running 33" tires with only 3" or so of suspension lift. I hope you trimmed your fenders to keep 'em away from the tires. The IFS front end won't handle that much lift without breaking CV's or ruining tie rods and centerlinks left and right. There's no such thing as a dropped idler or pitman arm for Nissans, nobody makes one. About the only thing you can do to beef up your steering is get either the L&P centerlink and shear-braced idler arm for $325 or the Calmini steering system for $550. northgapathy
i have way more than just 3 inches of suspension lift, and i have a 2 inch body lift, and yes i also trimmed the fenders just to be safe, so tires rubbing are not an issue, how can i contact phil, i am willing to pay for these parts to be custom built if that is possible

Mookie
I'd be inclined to take it to another alignment shop If you have more than 3" suspension up front, are you riding on the bumpstops? Vengeful posted the link for Phil. l
northgapathy
i'm not on the bumpstops, but i'm close, and i have the low profile ones, i may have forgot to mention that, and i'm getting pictures today, so you guys can see what i'm talking about Edited June 24, 2005 by northgapathy
