trekterrano
Hi all, I have my 1987 Terrano d21 v6 petrol 4wd fitted out for our charity rally efforts and going great. The one area I am looking to upgrade is the standard fuel tank to try and avoid extra fuel cans being carried. I have found a possible long range tank that is listed for a 1986-97 Navarro d21. It is a 137 litre unit that would fit the needs quite well but the supplier can’t confirm any match/fit for the d21 hardbody so I was hoping someone on here may have some advice of potential crossover (or not). Any advice would be greatly appreciated with thanks ian
Slartibartfast
The WD21 (Pathfinder/Terrano) and D21 (Hardbody/first-gen Navara) tanks are very different. The WD21 tank is behind the axle, and the D21 tank is between the driveshaft and the frame rail. There's been talk of adding a D21 tank to a WD21 as a second tank, though I haven't heard of anyone actually trying it. Even the smaller D21 tank (looks like they're either 15 or 21 gallons, depending on wheelbase) would add a fair whack of fuel capacity, and might be easier to make room for than the big chungus extended model that you're looking at. trekterrano
Thanks for the quick response and appreciate the input. Will have to keep researching options to see what I can fit in. Might end up going a custom secondary tank and plumb it in with a feed. cheers

I am not sure they are off-the-shelf now but more likely made to order. Great they are still available though!

Thnx If you send me an email I can send you a few pics. (I can't shrink them down enough to be worth attaching. I can't see any identifiers on it, it is probably actually a Brown Davis Tank given they seem to be the only manufacturer. It is in good shape but will need a clean out.
