blackterrano
Intake is off and in the process of cleaning it out. EGR has been removed and blocked off, Anyone done this before?? Any help would be great!
Citron
What year is yours? I have done it on the vg30e. Plug the intake and the exhaust, cap the vaccum line and good to go. You won't see any power or milage gain. It will run just like it did before. The only reason to do it is if the egr is not working correctly and you don't want to buy a new one. Mine was working fine, I did it more for curiosity sake.
RCWD21
A quick tip for blocking the exhaust manifold, take a little grease and put it on a couple nickels, and once you cut the egr tube screw the hollow nut down on top of the nickels and it'll seal up the hole just fine. Also I've blocked off a few egr systems and noticed no difference in engine characteristics. Some vg30e's don't even have egr equipment and some do, it just depends on your area if you'll be able to pass an inspection or not. But also take note that once I cleaned out working egr systems that even a few years later there still weren't any deposits built up so a clean working system should stay clean for a very very long time. adamzan
Literally makes no difference. Takes a little clutter out of the engine bay but that is about it.
blackterrano
Think she is a '91 What about the electronic side of it for the EGR, just not plug it back in?
blackterrano
Not doing it for performance, intake was coated in about 3mm of oil and carbon. Reserculating deisel exhaust back into the engine is a terrible idea!
