thegoodstink
OK so I just baught my first Pathy. $500!! I have had it for a week and already love it. It is stock mostly, got a bush guard on it, and am just about ready to get it safetied. So here is the problem; I cannot get the reverse lights to work. The bulbs are fine, and the fuse is good. So WTF!! It is a 5 speed, so I can only assume that the prob is with the tranny switch? I have tried to locate the wiring for it underneath, but there is so much I don't know where to start. Can someone shed some light. No pun intended. Also my low fuel warning light won't shut off, even though the tank is full??? Thanks everyone Edited March 26, 2005 by thegoodstink
armelius2
Yeah, there is a switch near the rear transmission you have to really get awkward to replace that switch.
hardwaretoad
You'll find it on the right (passenger) side of your tranny. Might as well pick one up before you take your old one out, you won't be able to drive with it removed. Clean the area surrounding it really good first. Just unhook the wire leads to it, unscew it & put the new one in, torque to about 15-20 ft. lbs. Really easy... thegoodstink
Ok so I went and got myself dirty and now have more questions. There are two sensors near the rear of the tranny. One is fairly easy to get at, the other will be interesting, as it is practically on top of the tranny housing. Please tell me it is the easy one? Either one has wiring that is easily unhooked. It seems I will have to cut the wires, and re-attach to the new sensor? Is that correct? Thanx a million everyone, this site kicks a**. Kudos to the person that started it!!
