Hey guys I'm having a problem with my alternators going out after muddin. I have a lifetime warranty on the part but it's a pain in the ass to keep changing it. Does anyone know if they sale a bracket to relocate the alternator to top of engine? Or some how water proof the alternator

I have had very poor luck with reman alternators in another vehicle I own, not lasting longer than 3 months or so. I replaced the rectifier and voltage regulator myself and have not had another problem.

+100 on the splash guards.

Going with the cheap rebuilds is not the best. Sure you get a lifetime warranty. I have said this before. It means you spend your lifetime replacing it. Get one from a Napa store or similar. Either that or take it to a shop to rebuild it.

I bought a Delco Remy alternator, sure it was twice the price of the parts store rebuilt, but it has lasted 3 years (of wheeling seasons) so far...
