Mrelcocko
Picked this QX4 up for $500. It has some issues. Pass side axle needs to be replaced, death wobbles and needs to be detailed from top to bottom. On the upside the engine is perfect a/c still function's, 4x4 works ,all electrical is A-OK and last but not least no rust anywhere. I've already started on the front end. Refurbished fog lights, blinker and head lights. Fixed bumper and started painting under carriage. More to come. Mrelcocko
I always get so jealous when I see surface rust free undersides...The guy I purchased the QX4 from I lived across from about 8 years ago. I've been looking for a wrecked Pathfinder or QX4 to purchase for parts. I remembered a guy that use to be my neighbor had a QX4 for some reason I was thinking I wonder if that guy still has it. I didn't have his number anymore so I thought what the heck I'll search for an on Facebook. BAM!! Found him first try. Sent him a message and sure enough he still had it amd that he didn't drive it much and that it had a few problems. I ask him what he was wanting for it and he told me $500. Before I went and looked at it I told him I wanted it. Sometimes you just gotta Get Lucky. Sent from my SM-G530T using Tapatalk
Mrelcocko
I always get so jealous when I see surface rust free undersides...No doubt brother. It's been in the South its whole life so that's exactly why it has no rust or at least surface rust. That salt is a killer. Snowboarder12345
One of the coming steps for me is undercoating everything. I think I'm going to have to just use rust primer though, it'd be too much work to wire wheel everything one mine. Just a taste of what I'm eventually going to try to un-f*ck haha. At least I've made a solid dent in all the structural rust I think. Yours looks really good though, definitely take pride in that

Yours looks really good though, definitely take pride in that I just picked up some undercoating tonight for the wheel wells to hopefully make the cab quieter and of course protect the frame. If you get a chance it wouldn't hurt to pressure wash everything you can before you paint. It makes everything looks that much better. I take all the weather stripping off the doors and everything when I do my detailing. Dude this Q was bad. Parked under trees and never washed. I've barely put a dentist in this thing. I've got a 98 Pathy I redone with a lot of newer parts from junk yards and flipped the script on it. Turned out really good. Turned out really well in my book. As for the steps rails the rust got the best of them. Just need to get new tubing and weld it on. Mrelcocko
The leather seats after cleaning and conditioning. The rear floor mat. The fronts are pretty much trash but the back wasn't. The engine completed. Going to replace the thermastat also soon. The heater doesn't get hot nor does the temp guage read right. It reads below normal. So my guess is the thermastat is inoperable. LittleFR
At least the thermostat stuck open not closed. I hate the factory steps, they belong in the junk pile anyways. Looks like a great buy and a nice truck.

Mrelcocko
Installing L.E.D in your switches is easy if you take your time and have a steady hand. mjotrainbrain
Wow, the undercoating looks great! Did you bring it to a shop to have it done, or did you do it yourself?
Mrelcocko
Wow, the undercoating looks great! Did you bring it to a shop to have it done, or did you do it yourself? Thanks a lot! I do it myself. I jack it up and put a jack stand on all 4 corners or jack up one corner at a time. Then I paint away. For anyone deciding to do this be sure to wear old clothes and a mask. And if it's windy that day go fly a kite and do it when there's little to no wind. Lol! Good luck! Sent from my SM-G530T using Tapatalk
