djeffrey
Hello, My brother and I picked up another pathfinder a while ago. I have a spare Lsd laying around, this pathfinder has an open diff, I want too take the Lsd apart and give it a check through then put it in. This setup has different gearing than my current setup. My question is can I swap the gears on the LSD too avoid swapping the front differential? Thanks everyone!
Slartibartfast
Yeah, you can swap the ring and pinion, but you'll have to do some adjustment after the fact to get the gears aligned properly. I take it one rig is HG43 and the other is HG46?
djeffrey
Yep exactly, is the adjustment you were talking about the backlash or somthing to do with the friction disks? Thanks for your help!
RCWD21
Anytime you fiddle with ring and pinion setups you always want to check the backlash and make sure everything is within tolerance. If not you could end up with a noisy diff and bad bearings. Sent from inside my potato
