Diff fluid

Greetings all

 

what are you guys using in your diffs.? i have a friend that took his frontier to the dealership and saw the mech putting synchomesh in his diff. says it works great.

 

anyone else hear of this?? mine is due for a change...my rear is lsd.

I use whatever the Nissan techs give me. With your LSD make sure you use oil with the LSD Additive or you might screw it up.

AFAIK, Synchromesh is spendy stuff. I use regular GL-5 front and rear on mine.

what do you use then for the t-case...

 

...i want to change it also guessing it has lacked maint., is there any kind of gauge to tell how bad of shape the diff's and t-case are in or special cleansing fluid??

My t-case takes GL-4 gear oil, but they don't all use gear oil. Some use Dexron II/III auto tranny fluid.

i switched to gl a while ago without adverse effects....
