Stock gas tank skid durability

Just wondering how stout these things are, has anyone punctured a tank on one of these trucks?

I'm no hardcore rock crawler by any means, but I've smacked mine on a few good stumps with no I'll effects.

I've never punctured the tank. You'd have to drive fast over something very very sharp (like a piece of rebar poking out of the ground) to do that.

 

I have, however, dented both the skid plate and gas tank when my rear tire slipped off its line and the undercarriage (i.e. gas tank) fell onto a beachball-sized rock. I removed the skid plate and hammered it back into shape, but the gas tank had to be replaced.

I'm not sure what the R50 skid looks like, but I was able to squeeze two together on my WD21 and bolt them into place with the original hardware. I'm pretty confident in that setup.

Mines taken some direct hits. Its done well. Ill add some metal to it soon but for normal ppl its great. I beat my truck like a 2 bit @$! Though!!
