Ok so I purchased a 95 pathy (9/94, apparently it matters) with a driveline issue. So the po said he was driving along at 65 ish mph and he heard a pop and the back wheels locked up. Had to remove the driveshaft to move it. Revs free and the t case shifter will not go into 4l or 2h.

Wow. I'm guessing the chain snapped and bunched up between one of the sprockets and the case. You could drain the oil and look for kibbles and bits but IMO if it locked up on the highway it's gonna be coming out one way or another, and it's probably easier to tear into it when it's not under the truck.

Its chain driven. yes there are gears for hi/lo but its driven via chain from an input shaft that links your trans output shaft and the snout of your driveshaft. when the chain breaks it bunches up on the primary shaft and will lock your rear wheels faster than you cn say oh s$%#!
